The Architecture Thread
 

I don't think we've discussed this in great detail yet! Architecture is something surprisingly important to me- though I've not really studied it as much as to be able to name many architects. I just hate to see bad architecture. One thing I hate about living in Liverpool is the terrible record the city has for the demolition of beautiful should-be-listed buildings. What was once a city full of victorian and georgian flourishes is now full of those awful 1920s and 60s pre-fabricated cube houses and ugly new apartment towers.

i think architecture is one of the most fascinating arts. i can't tell you why i think that, or anything about it in detail since i just started to study it. my friend just graduated from art school with a degree in architecture.

there's a house just like this last one on the beachside near home- it's near impossible to drive up to, but the drive is worth it. for terriblecanyons, this one.

Um, more of the obvious: FLW for the house in Bear Run, PA and the NYC Guggenheim. Gehry for the Guggenheim Bilbao in Spain especially and Utson for the opera house in Sydney.
