my old boss got in a fight with my young boss. i was sitting in my young boss' office waiting for her to print out something for me. my old boss roughly grabs me and tosses me from the young boss' office scratching up my arm so that they could fight.

1) she's my boss.
2) you don't lay a fucking hand on me.
3) you certainly don't scratch me up.

how exactly do i handle this? thoughts? ... for now i've come home.

I'd concur with this. HR > Lawyers. Being as you're in the states, I should imagine there's oodles of laws against it. I'd say go to HR first and if you're not happy with the action they take (i.e., they don't at least start an investigation/ sack her on spec) then proceed to the properly judicial system. People doing that sort of thing shouldn't be allowed jobs. They should find one of the legion of over-qualified immigrants/ minorities to do it instead.

see the problem is... they OWN the company. our HR girl basically does payroll and benefits. that's it.

in most USA companies, the HR department does not work for the employees, it works for the company in getting rid of trouble making employees.
