beck - modern guilt coming .
i thinks it's gonna be amazing album (july 8th)
here its the promo video: http://pl.youtube.com/watch?v=XDoYZJL4CcQ and chemtrails streaming song: www.beck.com what you think ? |
Typical shite album name by Beck.
|
Chemtrails sounds alright, but the song on the promo sounds like the Information, which I didn't like that much (unless it was playing on that weird ass DVD).
Eh. I'm not expecting a whole lot. |
I don't know what it is, but I really do have an almost irrational loathing for all things beck. its not even a new thing, from first hearing loser, my first thought was that we have an absolute buffoon on our hands with this one.
|
I'm kind of the opposite. I've always liked him, but I have no idea why. He doesn't strike me as very smart, his music isn't great, and he's not a very interesting person. But I do like him.
|
maybe the concept that unites us both suggests that nobody really knows why they think about beck, whether in a good or bad way.
|
Possibly. I wouldn't be surprised if I found out he doesn't exist. I wouldn't be unsurprised, either.
|
Beck makes sense only if you read his name cause it's in front of you or you can't be bothered to switch off the radio while one of his songs is playing.
After that you realise that you have some shit stuck inside your ears and pick up a cotton bud to get it out. |
edit: fuck wrong thread.
|
if you got all the music there is, good and bad, and then made an average out of it, you'd have beck
|
Beck has always been a decent artist in my book. Not enough for me to buy an album but decent enough to enjoy his singles. This "Modern Guilt" sounds a bit bland, though.

Beck is a magpie artist, taking bits and bobs from other areas of music, then added his waffling vocalese over the top. And he's a god-botherer to boot as well.
Melly sez "no" to Beck. |
is he really a bible puncher? flippin hell. now i have a concrete reason to really dislike the little fucker
|
A Bible puncher? Is that like Bible-beater?
|
Yup, he's a fully-signed-up Mormon. When he's singing about "Sexx Laws", he's probably referring to the many edicts that are handed down from Salt Lake City
EDIT: Nope, T&B is right, he's part of the Tom Cruise and WILL FUCKING SMITH club. |

better than that, he's a scientologist |
i dunno. a bible puncher just refers to someone whose into god in a big way.
|

Yes. |
What? I'm pretty sure he's always been a Scientologist. Not that it's any better.
EDIT: Er. Little late on that. |
