starting this saturday night me and a friend will be airing weekly
the show is called TINNITUS
its in hebrew, but the music is not.
the musical style of the show is anything goes, but tactfully
lots of alt/avant/punk/noise rock
new folk
old folk
blues country
free jazz
soundtracks....

and i will try to post a DL link of the shows for your listening pleasure.

the first show includes

fire on Fire
ESG
david grubbs
pumice
suicide
and a few really awesome bands that i dont know that my co host put on.

if anybody want their music played, you are welcome to mail me cds/mp3s/whatnots and whathaveyous and i will fit some in to different programs

Dance music for people who don't dance is what you mean.

Play some fucking Happy Hardcore.

al shabbray 01.29.2009 03:55 PM

hahaha
I think its definately possible to dance to such stuff and look less stupid.
but I am asking myself if there isnt any word for the 2 big classifications except rockmusic and electronic music

Glice 01.29.2009 04:08 PM

I know what you mean - I just get a little pissed off by so-called 'highbrow' dance music... IDM is the worst name for anything, ever. I think a lot of people fail to take proper dance music seriously because it only really serves one purpose, whereas there's a lot of rock music that's positively stupid that's taken quite, quite seriously (QOTSA, anyone?)

atsonicpark 01.29.2009 04:08 PM

Sweet.

Feel free to play anything of mine if you want. There's free downloads on my last.fm pages.

Will be an awesome show!

sarramkrop 01.29.2009 04:19 PM

Excellent, radio shows rule. I'd much rather listen to them than entire albums, sometimes.

I agree for 100% I just wanted to write down these genres because I dont know other way to describe it when somebody doesnt get the term "beat driven music"
IDM really is an awful wannabe elitist genre name.
and yes again, the word dance is connected with cheap like bull with shit. damn genre classifications at all.

"names".

Dead-Air 01.29.2009 10:44 PM

Congratulations! Radio is my longest running addiction, and given the choice I would be in the dj booth more than out.

Your show will be really cool to listen to, but you must be sure to post full playlists with the download links! Otherwise we'll be wondering what the hell you're playing most of the time.
