who here is a satanist?
 

I've become really interested in Satanism lately. I'd read the Satanic Bible a long time ago and I loved it, I agreed with most of it, but I didn't know how I felt about becoming a practicing Satanist. I've long considered myself as an Agnostic Theist, but I've recently been thinking of "converting" my beliefs to that of a LaVeyan Satanist.

Anyway, just curious if anyone here is into that stuff. Please don't turn this into a big debate about religion, since most of its bullshit. Please don't question my beliefs. I am just curious who else considers themselves a satanist.

I for one am against Satan. He is resposible for all of the wrong in the world. I don't see how anybody could really be for that.

if you were to read anton la vey's work on what he branded satanism, it has nothing to do with the worrship of a deity.entity called satan. it has everything to do with accepting the animalistic side of our humanity, and exalting in it, and understanding that the "virtues" which are taught by christians, are not the only human virtues.

I myself am an ANTI-Theist.

LeVeyan Satanism is atheist/non-theistic. Satan is more of a symbol of selfish will in nature than any supernatural, metaphysical being. Theistic Satanism is the one that prays to the Infernal Prince.

And I'm only familiar of Thus Spake Zarathustra, which I think completely flew over my head when I read it a good 7 years ago. Maybe I should dig it back out.

There is a marked difference between dismissing a thing and being actively against it.

I find it a curious phenomenon that self-centered philosophies are always so Western-scope in being contra Christianity when religion/philosophies like Buddhism, which strive for the absolute eradication of the self, are obviously far more antithetical.
