Best Song On Eternal
sorry for calming the snake and no way but hey 10 choices, and reading yr comments these are the weakest yet
i'll go with walkin blue with malibu right behind and massage and orgasm |
Well.. that made no sense. I would say my favorite is "Malibu" or "Anti-Orgasm"
|
are you always this positive :)?
|
Oh! I understand it now, sorry. You had to omit those two songs from the poll. Alright.
|
I'm digging Poison Arrow a lot. A real departure from the normal SY rock pattern. I still think it sounds a lot like Pavement, which I love.
|
There is a 10 option limit. I love No Way and Calming the Snake. I wouldn't say either was one of the best though, so I'm ok with them being omitted.
|
I think Antenna is my fav so far after two listens, Thunderclap is my least fav, hasn't done it for me yet.
|
antenna.
or what we know. or massage the history. ... i don't know yet. |
Walkin Blue
is beautiful |
Really digging Antenna. It's pretty straightforward, but it's really lifting me.

Massage The History gets better with every listen.
|
Malibu Gas Station made the album for me, at first I wasn't too impressed but from then on, including repeat listens, it has been great. something clicked with that song I guess
|
why can't we vote for Calming the snake or no way?
|
Massage the History
listening to it for the second time, again i get chills i have never gotten from a Sonic Youth song before, i have been listening to them now nearly 10 years, and never has one of their songs stuck out so much, let alone in the first two listens it is a total group effort too, Kim's quivering voice, with Thurston's acoustic organics and Lee just ghostly with his echoed slide especially at the 2:40 mark when both Kim's voice cracking and Lee hitting his highest notes as Steve is the lighthouse keeps the ship on course i don't know much about the back story of the lyrics or title, but it's is unintentionally (intentionally?) appropriate when you consider yes that this song reminds you of Golden Blue, the outro has the tone of Shadow of a Doubt, Kim even sings "All the money is gone" a line lifted all the way back 27 years ago from "I dreamed I dream", and a little after taste of Sweet Shine for good measure even even with all that, it's still so completely original in it's approach melding voice and guitar in complete frailty that makes me shudder in a way that very few songs have done to me personally |
True fans wait for the album to come out on CD.
|
Poor you, missing out !

true fans wait until the band and label decide to "leak" a stream that as incentive to go purchase their pre-orders, instead of waiting for the inevitable pirated leak away where they get no cash from
a damn good business plan |
uh oh
