Sonic Youth Album Cup 2009 Round One: EVOL v A Thousand Leaves

I really love A Thousand Leaves but unfortunatly for it, EVOL is my favorite Sonic Youth album and therefore I vote on it.

I don't listen to these 2 that often, but I prefer EVOL.

I have to go with EVOL, it's just too dark and beautiful, although 1,000 leaves has some great songs.

An unfortunate match-up, but EVOL gets it.

Too bad it had to face EVOL in the first round, I'd like to see it pass the first rounds. It's fantastic.

This is the toughest choice out of the first round. I'm gonna go with A Thousand Leaves...but I may regret the decision.

EVOL. only because it took me ages to get into a thousand leaves. and i totally had a "moment" with EVOL the other night that cemented it's place in my top SY rekkids.

This was so hard, but i went with EVOL.

EVOL is a great album, its just that A Thousand Leaves is greater imo.

Damn, this is definitely the toughest round one face-off... Had to go with EVOL though, as it's one of the most important albums in my musical development, and also because of the opening to Tom Violence, amng other things....

side note: i just bought EVOL sealed in mint condition on vinyl off ebay for $25...can you say STEAL :D muahahah

I'm just surprised that the difference in votes in this tie is greater than it is in the one between CIS and Sonic Nurse.

although i much prefer EVOL, I half expected this was going to be a lot closer
