Every City has a Mountain, post yours..
It seems every city has a nice mountain range dominating the skyline.. Los Angeles i no different.. we have the lovely San Bernadino Mountains, the Los Angeles Mountains, the San Gabriel Mountains, and the Santa Monica Mountains forming the basin of the city.. they can be beautiful to see. On clear mornings I strole to this local motel which is 4 stories and climp up to the highest balcony because it faces the mountains in the north, otherwise I can't see them over all the houses and buildings, but that vista at dawn from those steps is rather refreshing, reminds me that I do not just live in the concrete jungle, but in a natural world

![]() the middle peak there is called Mount Olive, I go hiking there in the winter when it is not in the tripple digits, breathtaking view of the city, on a clear day you can see clear across to the ocean.. ![]() I was hoping to find a picture without the snow, as 75% of the time these mountains have no snow, but they retain if not enhance their beauty, the snow is wonderful but that is not the typical LA mountain scene.. but yes, LA does have snowcapped mountains in the winter ![]() and then like today.. fire on the mountain. in fact, the fire this morning is very near where i go hiking on the San Gabriels.. |
Here's a shot one of my photographer friends took:

don't be hating. I said, "it seems like" I did not claim that shit as a geological fact ;) if you don't like it move to a city with some lovely mountains, but out here west of the rockies EVERY city has mountains, that back east shit to us here in the west is like the Old World was to colonialists.. a confining, smothering environment of landed aristocracy, deeply embedded racism/corruption, and a general social atmosphere of structure and castes which restricts social mobility.. fuck back east. westsides on the map niggaz rappin since the 70s and still never went gold.. |

Going back to these origins
The city is a natural scape Order in the details Confusion uproar in the whole In nature reality is selection The tool of critical intervention Fragmentation is the rule Unity is not taught in school You are an unnatural growth On a funny sunny street The city has forgotten you Its symbols of the past The meaning of its state Its order of decay Stand now in a column And make the nature scene Standing now in columns Making the nature scene Making the nature scene Waiting to make their pay There is no resistance to The signs along the way Standing all in columns Waiting to make their pay Making the nature scene Waiting for the day There is no resistance to There is no resistance to Salvation means to count on you It just means to count on you Make the nature scene |
