Recommend some current "Noise/Underground" stuff?
I'm using that term loosely. Not sure what else to call it. Things along the lines of Lightning Bolt, No Neck Blues Band, Double Leopards, Liars. I've got some of that. Who else is good?

Though I haven't listened to alot of those bands, I'm sure alot of them are good. Check out Six Finger Satellite, defintely. Noxagt is pretty good, as well. There's been talk of Pink and Brown, it might be good to check them out. While I'm thinking about it, has anyone listened to Excepter off of Load Records? Opinions? |
These are mostly repeats.

COMETS ON FIRE
they're such a great mix of noise and psychedelic rock, their last record Blue Cathedral blew my mind. I havent heard the new one (Avatar) though. |

Any Matthew Bower based project is usually good. Sunroof!, Skullflower, Total, Hototogisu and so on.
Some good ones are Cloudz and Found Star Sound by Sunroof! and This is... and Orange Canyon Mind by Skullflower. I need more myself and imminently. |

Some of OOIOO's stuff is pretty awesome. And check out Parts and Labor too, they're more of a "rock" band really (again, loosely used) but make some crazy noise still. Oh and Zach Hill and Mick Barr's Shred Earthship. |
I totally second Skullflower. My personal favorite by them is "Obsidian Shaking Codex". I also recomend Birchville Cat Motel and Ashtray Navigations for sounds that are hard hitting, yet beautiful. Anyone who likes Comets on Fire should check out Monoshock's "Walk to the Fire".
|
I hated Shred Earthship.
And Six Finger Satellite is hardly current or noise, but if you like stuff in that vein check out microwaves.. genghis tron... I'd say, check out pretty much anything off of skin graft or crucial blast. I've got good news... That gum you like is coming back in style! |
If you like Double Leopards check out
Vibracathedral Orchestra Birchville Cat Motel Taj Mahal Travellers Starving Weirdos |

They're rather noisey and worth a listen anyway. |

i'm sick of seeing the same names being drop everytime someone mentions "noise" and or "underground".
people always recommend the same bands. i suggest you get into grindcore, death metal, black metal and real harsh noise. fuck the pussy shit. |
Rammstein
|
Pussy shit is funner for dancing. Besides, he's using that term lightly and already listening to "Pussy Stuff".
|
Painkiller is mind-blowing. John Zorn, Bill Haswell, Mick Harris. Also, This Heat are not 'current'. They came out in 1975, though they are still amazing... '24 Track Loop' sounds like jungle meets feedback terrorists...

Thanks for the recs. You guys are the greatest.
