It's a jungle out there...
Well?
Hip Priest, your polls are becoming tougher and tougher. There a too many good ones on there but i had to go for Grandmaster Flash's 'The Jungle'.Where's the tropical inspiration from?
Most polls I make up, some I rip off from elsewhere on the net. This is the latter I'm afraid, although I had to whittle down the number of choices and add Creedence. I thought about adding Guns 'n' Roses, but I don't like them at all.
Thanks for voting. |
I voted Creedence, just ahead of Sidney Bechet and Lee 'Scratch' Perry.
If you'd have put Guns 'n' Roses on the poll i'm sure that a discussion about their merits,non-merits and blah blah blah blah would have esued.
You think omitting them was a mistake then?
Gosh,no!!It was a good move in every way!
I was thinking a long, protracted and ultimately acrimonious argument, killing off board friendships and creating a forum war, would have kept my thread bumped.
Mmmmm....very difficult decision.
Controversial I think, but I went with the Gun Club in the end, thinking of the live radio version you get on the Death Party reissue. But it could have been any of the list apart from Psychic TV for me. |
You start with a poll and all you need is a couple of oversensitive posters to keep the thread going.ha
The Gun Club have two votes already, I see.
Maybe not so controversial as it appears to be winning.
It's early days pookie.Wait till somebody decides to argue that band's merits.I'm sure that somebody is hiding out there or behind your back.
I hope sonicl appears then. He'll argue much more eloquently on behalf of Gun Club.
I'm not familiar with Gun Club, but I know of them. What type of combo are/were they?
Hip Priest,i invited Kate Moss into the thread because apparently if you have her as a friend she makes you popular:

Quote:
"A formative influence on cowpunk and horror punk, the Gun Club in injected punk rock with doses of blues and country music. Pierce's wailing vocals were an ideal delivery for his songs, which generally had a spooky, haunted quality." I've heard the expression psychobilly blues applied to them also. At their best, they were one of the best bands of the 80's. Ask sonicl to do you a tape, he's the expert (sorry sonicl for offering your services). |
I voted creedence too... and i wonder what kate moss thinks about all of this...
Thank you Pookie, and thank you alyasa. And thank you porkmarras, I think. I'm not too familiar with Kate Moss either, except I heard she takes lots of drugs, and she's some sort of model. Does she have any other achievements under her belt?
No.
