It's come to my attention that at least a handful of us here are video game fans, so I thought I'd start this thread like the "What are you listening to" or "Last movie you watched"...

I'm currently playing valkyrie profile 2, disgaea ds (which is just a remake of a Disgaea game I already beat but I am playing multiplayer on here, it's great), planet puzzle league, and yoshi's island for the snes. Haven't been playing as much lately, after putting 100 hours into shin megami tensei: nocturne.

the shin megami tensei series is awesome. It's pretty much a playstation-exclusive series. I've only played through 4 games of it. Persona 4 is coming out in like 2 weeks.

Did you know they recently re-released one of the PS1 Persona's? It was the first PS1 game in however many years, and sold out within a day (amazon.com exclusive, I believe).

Anyway too bad about RE5 not being ported to PS2... I only have PS2 and PSP. And I dnt plan on getting a PS3 until they get the PS1/PS2 compatability working correctly.

I'm playing through Zelda: The Wind Waker again. Then I'm going to beat Twilight Princess once and for all and beat Ocarina of Time again.

I agree. That thing, in the lake. The first time I saw it I nearly shit myself. I never thought anything would match Silent Hill 2, but RE4 might just have done it.

^^^hahaha, before I saw it, I was standing at the water and was tryng to shoot some fish (like in that cave) after the fith shot or something this huge beast jumps out of the water and eats you. that was the point were I (almost) shit myself

haha yr a geek! Just kidding. Well, I'm not really, but I'm a geek too, so it's cool. I'm getting into collecting lately, but I'm not picky about Greatest Hits versions, since they can often be a lot cheaper to grab.

This is a great game by the way.

Out of interest, what's the general feelings about the PS3 v the 360? I have a PS2 and like the idea of the PS3 but, like noisereduction, I don't like the idea of not being able to play PS2 games on it. It also looks as though the PS3 is lagging behind a bit in terms of game development - as well as being almost £100 more expensive than the 360!

ps3 is one of the best blu ray players on the market, if anything.

Never been an xbox fan. I'd like to see the PS3 drop down to the 360's price level though. And like I said, figure out the backwards compatability issues. It should be apparant to Sony that PART of what made the PS2 the asskicker that it was (still is, to me) is that it introduced amazing new games, while still allowing fans to enjoy their existing PS1 library.

good to see that it seems to be the same kick ass engine as part 4. but I miss the graphical "aha" effect a little bit. looks like part 4 with some more brightness contrast and a few details more...nit that I am that kid of graphic whore. but RE was always the kind of game which gained from graphic development

fuk yea, dude. last time i played through it was years ago. if this game was re-made with better graphics for the ps3, it'd blow everything out of the water.

Yeah, the backwards compatibility thing especially seems like a real own goal from Sony. I just can't see the logic behind their decision. It has to have affected sales. I mean we can't be the only two that've held off until they sort it out.

I've bought and sold 5 copies of FFVII. I've probably made over $300 on that game. I still have my copy that I played through many years ago. But yeah I own pretty much every good rpg on the ps1... every square game on there too except einhander.. I need to get that!

I hate Microsoft, and I hated the XBOX. But in all seriousness, it's pretty obvious the 360 is the only console with more than like 3 great games on it. It's also been around the longest, but...

the 360 definately got the early-advantage
they did everything right so far with this gen. sony did everything wrong.
nintendo did everything right in terms of money, but not in terms of holding a fan base

The DS doesn't really count since it's not a console. But yeah it's easily the best system since the snes and is close to being the best system ever.

I think everything thats not a computer is a console, portable or not. its a closed system, thats what I was referring to.
and I agree its getting better and better, features some of the best games (remakes/ports)
