I've been planning to post this on 1/1/15 for nearly a year now, and you just went and took that from me. :\

also, I wish the Goofin' Reissue would have the reversed SIDE B tracks from the cassette.

"Cuts of Guilt, Cuts Deeper", tentative title of a collaborative album by Merzbow, Mats Gustafsson, Balazs Pandi, & Thurston Moore. Due for release in March 2015, via RareNoise Records (whom will offer a subscription deal, similar to Joyful Noise Recordings').

Hopefully maybe the Byron Coley book on Sonic Youth. A few weeks ago Thurston posted a tweet that went something like "Coming Soon - Stereo Sanctity" he deleted the tweet since then.

stu666 12.17.2014 02:03 PM

Is this going to be more than just a reissue? Will it have bonus material too?

Make that a deluxe reissue, with mid-90's Memphis,TN barbeque joint takeout menus. Would love to hear outtakes/demos/standout live takes of Washing Machine material

that would be cool!

hedgehog 12.17.2014 04:18 PM

I reckon Confusion, BMR, Evol and Sister deserve the grandiose reissue treatment the following albums were afforded, even more so than Goo + Dirty. All classic and unique albums! A double disc would mean they wouldn't have to tack a song like Bubblegum on the end of Evol (not suited at all!) and stick it on a second disc with some choice live cuts/outtakes from the era. Same with Master Dik on Sister.

Still, Geffen reissues were pretty good and had some cool liner notes. Evol CD needs a good re-mastering as was mentioned somewhere else in this forum.

I wonder why BMR is gonna be re-issued before Confusion?

themawt71 12.18.2014 09:18 AM

isn't the screaming fields of sonic love dvd coming out too?

it can definitely be mentioned all year :)

Are there any times when the 20~15 part of Skip Tracer has been described by Lee or Leah Singer or anyone? it does create one of those interweaving song experiences with Hey Joni.
In both songs these are unique standout moments in music, there is a specific range of moods and mysteries to them that is hard to match!

Music is very much a time machine and one that is formed by and travels by creative expression...

a Washing Machine re-issue in the style of Motorpsycho's latest reissue box (Demon Box, 4cd + DVD concert) would be very welcome

10 cds? Really? people are willing to buy something like that? Wouldn't everyone be better off with a version of the book with some kind of download code for an mp3 version of the reading (split in chapters or something, in case one REALLY wants to burn audio cds from it)? Or are audiophiles gonna complain for the audio quality? haha.

Dunno.

that is what i ment. i am looking forward to have a book version over audio version. it is just interesting that it is being released as an audio book. some people might prefer audio ver. over written ver.. and who is going to narrate it anyway? mp3 bonus of audio version when purchasing book is not a bad idea at all by the way.

Maybe this is old news, but I just noticed that the prison documentary Hard Time narrated by Thuston is on Netflix. Might be cool to sample his voice from the narration.

_tunic_ 01.06.2015 12:45 PM

what about the collaboration album of Steve with Disappears and White/Light? Will it ever be released, or was it perhaps already released ages ago and I missed it. Can't find any mention of it though, except announcements here for instance when it was supposed to be released in late 2012

As far as I know, the only released goody from "dw/lss" is that 2010 split 7" with JBe:
