Prehistopric shark filmed in Japan!!!
HOLY CRAP!
ANCIENT, and I mean ANCIENT pre-historic shark, the DEEP SEA FRILL SHARK appears off the coast of japan. here is a link to the CNN video of it!!! what an animal! Jaime check it out! http://www.cnn.com/video/player/player.html?url=/video/world/2007/01/24/vo.japan.rare.shark.rtv |
![]() what a fucked up looking creature.... seemingly its a deep sea shark and it came closer to the surface due to rising temperatures. this animal was filmed seemingly in the last throws of life due to the oxygen rich and warmer sea conditions. real eerie vid rob. interesting animal........... i have a thing about deep sea animals, they are so bizarre and we have only discovered a fraction of them........ |
That is one ugly piece of shit. Scary though...
|
I too love deep sea creatures.
They are living fossils ussually, their habitat not having changed much in millions and millions of years, thereby negating the need for much new adaptation or natural selection. like evolutionary standstills did you see the frills in it's gills? what are those!!!! |
HOLY FUCK!!!
is that for real? is that a scam?? is it really really ancient or is some kind of freakish mutant? fuck, "regular" sharks themselves are ANCIENT, like, 300 million years old? wtf??? what is this?? that just blew my fucking mind. |
I'm piessed that it won't show me the video. It tells me there is a missing plug-in... but I request it, and it gives me nothing. Shit.
|
I saw that on the 10 o'clock news. Amazing creature.
|
The video won't work for me either. I want to see this elusive deep sea bastard!
Oh wait, nevermind: ![]() ![]() ![]() |
It also has more gill slits than an average shark. If I'm not mistaken, 7 instead of the normal 5.
|
I feel sorry for her. Why did you die, Sharkie?
Aw. I bet she had little prehistoric shark children too. This will affect a lot of people. |
I saw that on CNN too!
So hideous, but very cool. I wonder, are there more of these ugly freaks? We should hope so... |
Can you imagine what lies in the deepest, darkest areas of the ocean? I bet there are enormous creatures down there...
|
That is really fucking cool, amazing.
|
That thing is so creepy looking. I'm very intrigued.
|
Look at its fucking teeth. Amazing.
|
jesus that's cool
|
And they say that the Loch Ness Monster cant exist. Here is some proof that mysxterious and elusive ancient creatures still do appear once in a while. Soon enough we will discover the true existence of Sasquatch, Nessie, the Chupacabra, leprechauns and gay republicans.

what? you've never heard of these?? |
Just saw this on the news here. Wow... So cool. Over 300 teeth!
That's incredible. It just makes me intrigued what else lies unknown by humans... and how much longer they will remain unknown... |
I just assumed that they were a fictionalized group invented by the republicans. Just like Jesus.
|
That thing has the same facial expression as my dog. This has to be the best prehistoric fish rediscovery since the coelecanth.
|
holy fuck.
|
its weird it looks almost like a model or a dead fish that someone has on a line and is fooling everyone.

the animals was dying |
Fucked up thing is, not more than a month ago they caught the world's first living giant squid off the coast of Japan, as well... another bizarre creature that normally dwells far too deep for human eyes to see. What the hell is going on out in that water that's driving these things to the surface, or is it just a coincidence?
|
Quote:
ahh the possibilities!! |
Quote:
Global Warming or as the President would say Climate Change? |
that giant squid they filmed was a young child and it was huge! the mature ones have gotta be insane!
|
Does anyone have clips of the squid?
|
Quote:
Those were my initial thoughts, too. But who knows, right? Like Touch Me said, "Aah, the possibilities..." After all, it's all conjecture, anyways. |
I think we might see more of these rare animals, resurface, I think this is evolution working its cycle.
|
Could be.
|
It might be just one of the many, I just wonder where humans are goin to evolve into?
|
In Kurt Vonnegut's CAT'S CRADLE, he tells of a calamity which strikes humanity in 1986, which eventually leads to the extinction of all the human race except those descended from a small group shipwrecked on the island of Santa Rosalia, most northerly of the Galapagos. Over the next million years, their descendants evolve into seal-like creatures with much smaller brains, greatly increasing the general level of happiness.
(vonnegut attributes our general unhappiness as a result of brains TOO big.) Edit: That should read GALAPAGOS, not Cat's Cradle |
Vonnegut's seal people would get eaten by dino-sharks.
|

How close is it to the Formosa Triangle? Not that I believe the lot of that stuff, but maybe another intriguing coincidence? |

That's true. Quote:
And that's usin' the old noggin. Another head scratcher. I'm gonna go look that up. |
Quote:
dude, that isn't in Cat's Cradale. that's in Galapagos. Cat's Cradle is about a small group of people surviving a man-made apocalypse on an island in the Caribbean. |

true true I put the wrong book never type under the influence of labor |
![]() this one aint even that big... these guys are the ones which myth says they used to grab ships from the surface and bring em down to feast on their juicy insides... deep sea creatures are amazing.... i cant stop watching that deep frill shark clip. its totally surreal...... |
