New Dinosaur Jr Album Has leaked...........
 

it's already leaked onto the net even though the release date isn't until May 1st.

Info on album:Reunited alt-rock trio Dinosaur Jr. has signed with Fat Possum, which will release in the spring unveil the band's first album with its original lineup since 1989. The 11-track "Beyond" is due May 1; it was recorded at vocalist/guitarist J. Mascis' home studio in Amherst, Mass.

"Dinosaur is something where the sound just propels us," bassist Lou Barlow told Billboard.com in October. "It's an energy source unto itself. The minute we started playing together, it was like, 'Oh, there it is.' It didn't surprise me though, since I've always believed in the quality of J.'s material."

As previously reported, a live DVD will follow later in May. Directed by Mascis' brother-in-law, Phillip Virus, the release will include live performance footage from the first half of Dinosaur Jr.'s reunion tour, including shows in New York and Boston. In February, Nike will also make available a limited edition Dinosaur Jr. skate shoe.

Barlow recently committed to a spring reunion tour with his post Dinosaur Jr.-band, Sebadoh, but according to a spokesperson, there will be additional Dinosaur Jr. live shows this year.

Wow thanks for the link Kegmama! Growing up skating, I heard Dinosaur Jr for the first time in the Vallely section they mention (Freak Scene) and all of the subsequent vids that came out in the late 80's early 90's I saw when they came out. Cool to see them all grouped together.

Countless bands I got into from skate vids though, including Sonic Youth.

that fuckin megaupload file is just tming out constantly. im trying to get it sorted but its a nightmatre. maybetopo much traffic on it. as sson as i dload it, unzip it, burn it and hear it ill put up a review or a 3 word synopsis of the album. i havent found any artwork to go along with it cuz i presume thats not done yet, it is a very early release...

by the way new lcd soundsystem album rocks big time, album of 2007 by a mile!

Beyond is amazing. I feel a little bad for getting a downloaded version of it, but i'll probably be buying it anyways.

It's not that i'm against downloading, it's just that I feel it'll seem worth waiting for.

Wow, that was brilliant, up on the level of the first 3 albums, I'm pleasantly surprised by this. It has fewer solos as previously mentioned, but the sound is more varied than before. I'm definetly buying it day of release.

And Kylerobert, no Lou does not sing at all. On one hand it would have been nice to hear him sing on a Dinosaur Jr song, but then again, this is not Sebadoh or The Folk Implosion, this is Dinosaur Jr as most of its fans remember it. But Lou does write the songs "Back To Your Heart" and "Lightning Bulb" although I don't want to judge them to soon, lyrically, they're better than the J Mascis songs.
