Back to the USSR
Sonic Youth are excited to announce their first concerts in 18 years in Russia: June 18 in St. Petersburg and June 19 in Moscow. Already announced in Europe are dates (some performing the 'Daydream Nation' album) in Spain, Poland, Germany, France and Switzerland as details of a Summer European Tour begin to shape up. Daydream will be in the US at the Pitchfork Music Festival on July 13, with shows on July 19 at the Berkely Community Theater in Berkeley, CA and July 20 at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles to follow. Sonic Youth will perform 'Daydream Nation' live on August 30 and 31 and September 1 at the Roundhouse in London as Part of the Don't Look Back series of concerts. Yes, it's true, SY allow taping. A multi camera bootleg would be amazing ( even more amazing if you could find a way to share the results :) )

ты из Питера? будет нереально круто если снимешь концерт на видео :) SY всегда разрешали записывать видео/аудио на их концертах. единственное но: правила площадки. в некоторых клубах запрещена запись. но это редкость :D |

wow. that would be so great if you would documented it (in such a way) ormfdmrush. maybe you should ask the venue as well, just make sure. and SY would greatly appreciated your recording as well.

i'm from Moscow once i've been filming in B1 Maximum club, it was the opening gig for them - The Sisters Of Mercy 07.12.2006 the club didn't object filming and security let me and couple guys come in with cameras but Sisters' manager suddenly disallowed filming, so we had to do it secretedly anyway, here's the result (multicamera thing) the best we could do being hunted and so on i hope this time everything would be OK could the band make any official statement on non-commercial filming? or can i contact the band/management directly on this problem? unfortunately, i can't visit SPb concert - exams and money are the problem but i'm sure you can find a couple guys with gear probably some of my friends would go there my ICQ is 212-211-986, so you're welcome to write thanks |

i can involve few guys with kinda professional cameras
but they're not really interested in SY so it would be not so good if i buy the tickets for them and they're not allowed to enter with cameras and i was really nervous after TSOM gig, being caught by their manager twice and hiding the camera almost in arse while filming after that it still hurts :) |
