Hello to all my new friends!

I'm new here, but I've been a Sonic Youth fan for years and years. Right now I'm listening to all of my Sonic Youth albums chronologically.

Love,
Daycare Nation

That sounds really fun.

Hey. Are you listening to them all in one sitting?

HaydenAsche 04.22.2006 11:48 PM

I plan on getting up tomorrow and drinking a bunch of Morning Glory tea and just tripping out and listening to all of my Animal Collective cds in order. Kind of similar I guess.

Daycare Nation 04.22.2006 11:48 PM

Yes, it's a blast. I'm listening to all my related albums too, such as solo albums and side projects...all in all about 35 discs....I'm planning on making a mix when I'm done...I'm making notes as I go...probly be about 3 or 4 discs long.

Daycare Nation 04.22.2006 11:50 PM

No, not all in one sitting...it'll take several days I'm sure. I like Animal Collective as well...I only have one album so far, though--"Feels." It sounds like early Mercury Rev to me, but way more crazy.

noumenal 04.22.2006 11:50 PM

I knew a guy who watched Wagner's entire Ring Cycle all in one sitting. That is a lot of opera.

Daycare Nation 04.22.2006 11:52 PM

That is quite a lot...I watched a little over 4 hours of Wagner on Good Friday: Hans Jurgen-Syberberg's film "Parsifal." I love that film.

golden child 04.22.2006 11:52 PM

i made a sonic youth mix for a friend, it was really fun. it ended up being two disc, all songs in chronological order

I like Feels alright but I listen to ST almost everyday. We Tigers makes me giggle.

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 12:17 AM

Here's what I'm working with so far:

I Dreamed I Dream
Destroyer
Freezer Burn/I Wanna Be Your Dog
Shaking Hell
Kill Yr. Idols
Brother James ("Live in Holland" version)
Society is a Hole
Death Valley 69
Shadow of a Doubt
Starpower
Secret Girl
Madonna, Sean and Me
Smoke Blisters 3 and 4

...I'll keep updating, because I know everyone is SUPER excited about my mix....this is going to be hard! I may have to make a five or six disc mix.

youthoftomorrow 04.23.2006 01:50 AM

i made a mix for a friend of mine a few days ago. the only criteria was "really fuckin' weird" so i got quite a bit of amusement out of the selection process.

Slayer - "Raining Blood"
Einsturzende Neubauten - "Headcleaner"
Shellac - "Watch Song"
Don Caballero - "Stupid Puma"
Lightning Bolt - "Ride the Sky"
Mastodon - "Megalodon"
Daughters - "Pants, Meet Shit"
Butthole Surfers - "To Parter"
Boredoms - "Acid Police"
Sonic Youth - "Made in USA Theme (Outtake)"
My Bloody Valentine - "Sometimes"
Aphex Twin - "Radiator"
Gost Bich - "Leaf Blower"
The Locust - "Moth-Eaten Deer Head"
Wolf Eyes - "Dead Hills"

Grete 04.23.2006 02:35 AM

Awesome list! Don Caballero is amazing. I like nearly every artist on it. I made a mix recently with Beck, Burning Airlines, Einsturzende Nebauten, Aki Onda, Simon Guibord, Flying Luttenbachers, Sonic Youth, Lou Reed, Goatsnake, Isis and quite a few more. It's going to be 2 discs, I'm just too lazy to type the whole thing out

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 03:19 PM

Thanks for the welcome, y'all.

Danny Himself 04.23.2006 03:30 PM

Yeah, I thought about those lyrics when I started this thread.

Okay I'm back with Ciccone remaster. I like how they kept it almost exactly the same.
