I don't think there have ever been any adoptions in my family as far as I know. Foster parenting, though, we've had some of that.

my wife has an adopted sister as well as 2 adopted half-siblings (another girl and a boy).

the half-sibs are spoiled lil fucks, but that has nothing to do with being adopted. :p

no adoptions, my parents had 2 (me first) and they freaked out by the time i started taking my first steps... rightly so, if i may add--i was more than a handful.

if i know my parents, the kid will be spoiled rotten, i just hope it doesnt get to it's head. i mean, they are good parents but they did let a lot of shit slide... i think my sister and i turned out pretty well though.

Adopting a child and giving it a loving home is one of the greatest things a human being can do. It's a tragedy that so many children without families remain unadopted, and it's one of western society's great failings that we tend to look at adopted parent/child relationships as inferior to biological ones.

My dad was adopted, as with my best friend's mom. My friend's mom also had a baby at 15 and put it up for adoption.
