GRRRRR!

ugh! my parents are dragging me along with them somewhere this evening at like 5!! it's so annoying! why must they drag me along? I am not even going to speak or do anything that would make it necessary for me to be there! parents are annoying! they always do shit like this on the weekends! i already had plans for my sunday evening. i was going to sit on my ass and relax! now i am being dragged to some boring person's house and am probably not going to be back till late!! anyone else's parents pull this shit on you?

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.23.2006 02:01 PM

sometimes. they used to do it a lot. now they just leave for the day without telling me where they are so i cant leave.

Trasher02 04.23.2006 02:43 PM

Parents can be a drag, espescially about school. I'm not doing so well in school lately and now i have to stay inside almost each day and learn :(...

Пятхъдесят Шест 04.23.2006 02:48 PM

Tell them no, or tell them you're sick.

Theres always a way out of it.

If all else fails, just embarrass them hardcore in front of their friends. I bet they never take you along with them again.

Laila 04.23.2006 02:50 PM

haha good advice. i tried saying no and they yelled at me. but i'm gonna try and say no again. if i end up not going then they will be mad for a couple days and give me the silent treatment and that shit is usually worse than just going with them.

EMMAh 04.23.2006 02:51 PM

The only time my parents make me go somewhere with them is when it's a family like, like my grandpa's birthday and what not.
If it's anything else I refuse to go.

Sheriff Rhys Chatham 04.23.2006 03:03 PM

tell them your pregnant and it wont make the baby happy.

Пятхъдесят Шест 04.23.2006 03:04 PM

papa don't preach

Trasher02 04.23.2006 03:07 PM

i had to go visit my grandpa today cuz he fell from his bike on the ground and broke his leg in 3 places... and he fell cause he didn't knew how to get of his bike.... lame

It might be fun Laila

Danny Himself 04.23.2006 05:30 PM

My parents pulled shit like that when I was about.. five... but that's because you can't really leave small children alone. They grew more relaxed about it over time until they separated- then they gave up on making me leave the house. Now it's just an occasional nag/lecture. But I wear myself out just dancing to Pavement in my room so it's all good.

nomadicfollower 04.23.2006 05:57 PM

Bring a book.
That hardley happens to me any more, but when it did I would just bring a book and read while the 'grownups' talked.

Rupert 'Stiles' Stilinski 04.23.2006 09:49 PM

You could try the "massive homework" approach, but I'd imagine it's too late now.

Now that I'm almost thirty, I really regret the way I acted around my parents. I don't see them very much any more and I always tried to avoid doing anything with them. Now we don't have a very good relationship... seemingly unable to be repaired.

Although I empathize with you, I'd stop your bitching and just make the most of it.

Is everyone on the board in high school?

Laila 04.23.2006 09:56 PM

well i didn't end up going with them. Yessss! i told them i was on my period and i had cramps. it wasn't a complete lie though. i mean i was on my period. anyway i'm not in highschool.

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 09:59 PM

I'm older than you....(response to Rupert)

Rupert 'Stiles' Stilinski 04.23.2006 10:01 PM

How old? I'm 29, but I act like I'm at least an obnoxiously immature 35 year old.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 04.23.2006 10:05 PM

You were probably missing out. There was probably some really good food there like cheese and grapes. I find everytime I don't go somewhere with my parents, it seems that my mom tells me about really good food and a cute girl that was in my age range.

Daycare Nation 04.23.2006 10:05 PM

I'll be 36 at the end of May. But younger people always assume I'm in my late 20's because I look young and I'm not uptight. I have a lot of younger friends and a lot of older friends. Age doesn't really matter to me.

Laila 04.23.2006 10:19 PM

julian i don't care about boys and i don't eat enough to care if there is good food there or not. anyway my mom brought me back a bag full of candy. i guess they were givin them out. haha so i got one and i didn't even have to go!!

You will regret, understand and appreciate then... Usually the things you think your parents suck for, are just becuz they care. :)

Cheers! I'm going to be an uncle any day now. I'm so excited. I already know what I am going to get him for christmas- a toy piano.

I want to be a father someday, I think I'd be good at it, but I think I would make a terrible husband. I think that it is just my imagination. I can't really imagine myself devoting myself to one woman my whole life. I guess I just have not met the right woman yet.

Rupert 'Stiles' Stilinski 04.24.2006 03:59 PM

After all that discussion, you better share some of your goddam candy...

Got any slowpokes?

SolidZach 05.12.2006 11:24 AM

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.12.2006 11:43 AM

Who was it that said the day you realize your father was right, your son will be telling you that you are wrong?

A charlie brown niece! Nice.

I don't know if I could have kids. Maybe it's because i'm too selfish I don't know but I don't think I could be a good Dad. Being angry all the time is what i'm turning into and that aint gonna rub off no kid of mine.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.12.2006 12:50 PM

Nephew.

h8kurdt 05.12.2006 12:54 PM

*dink* apologies.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.12.2006 12:58 PM

it is ok.

h8kurdt 05.12.2006 01:01 PM

Aaah thank allah, god, buddha whichever one is listening! I thought I was gonna get lashings from you for making such a foolhish mistake. *Prays to which god he can be arsed talking too*

I love my parents.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.12.2006 03:43 PM

I like my parents, but I get pissed at them because they are really easily manipulated by people.

SecretGirl13 05.12.2006 03:51 PM

My parents and I get along splendidly as long as we're not living together. After I moved out, my parents started being pretty cool. Now I actually look forward to visiting them. Laila, how much longer are you stuck there?

we have this in common. i'll be 37 in september. i don't have any wrinkles or lines. My hairline has receded slightly with widow's peaks but it doesn't appear i'm gonna lose my hair at all, although my hair has gone mostly grey & has been going grey since i was in my middle twenties. when i dye my hair, (which i stopped doing because it damages your hair) everyone new that i meet thinks i'm in my mid-twenties.
