Teenagers and 20 -somethings
...
|
we try. but for the most part, i don't like people my age.
|
damn straight, i'm a leech.
|
yeah, im 18 have a know-it-all attitude and im loving every minute.
giving something back to the world...why would I do that... thats for ugly 25 year olds Only kidding but I am enjoying being young and soaking it all up for what it is Ive always wanted to live from 16 - 23 and then skip to being 50...its being middle-aged not old I dread, it neither has the joy of youth or the dignity of being 50/60 |
yeah, and back in 80s you did soooo much that was constructive.
|
My form at school is the worst thing ever. I couldn't care less if my form room was bombed. Anyway, I do occupy myself with certain productivities. D':
|
thank you, i will off myself now.

what happened porkie? you didn't spend sunday in bed with a beautiful man, after all? fess up... |
Maybe he read all of that nonsense about Richard Linklater's SubUrbia in that other thread. I did, and now I hate all teenagers.
|
I hated all teenagers before it was cool.
|
oh. i haven't seen. oh yes. i didn't like that much. it wasn't really linklater but what's his name's play. bogosian.
|

Doesn't matter. Still sucked. |
This is somewhat out of place. Sonic Youth (check even the name) have always written Teenage music. I find it difficult to understand liking SY and hating Teenagers
|

i think bogosian had his 15 minutes in the early 90s. see that's what bugs me about this shit. you know, people confuse good art w/ crap that resembles their lives. like that shitty ass movie, hm, with the scrubs guy, and that freaky girl, what was the name? OH YES! garden state-- what a piece of shit movie. yet every fool & their mother were going "oooooh!!!1 its soooo muuuuuch like my liiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiife" -- well your life sucks! |
Quote:
But I don't like SY. |
Quote:
I think I ranted about that movie in another thread. Or at least imagined I did. |
|
Quote:
you hate it too? please say you do. i'll build you a little altar in my home :D |
Quote:
poor kid... |
Quote:
That movie, as well as that other Zach Braff movie "The Last Kiss"...there are just no words to describe them that don't involve some variation of "poop." |

Haha fair enough enjoy your retirement home Luxinterior... As I said before in terms of looks people look great from 16-25 then start going downhill really quickly until reaching about 50 where people aquire a look of diginity and wisdom. Then after about 70 people start looking bad again. Just a personal obsevation, not true in all cases of course...im sure middle-age SY fans remain hot....unless of course they start hating teenagers...see the light youth haters! |

![]() i have faith in "humanity" (whatever that is) again |
If they had written more songs like Macbeth, perhaps their music would still resonate with me.
|
I pride myself on being a slightly more productive and useful waste of air than other people in my age group. At least I'm well read, I can't say that for 99.9% of my peers or anyone in my town.

Please! There is nothing I hate more than people attacking teenagers. Almost all the teenagers I know and spend time with are incredibly intelligent. In fact far, far more intelligent than the older people I know. Who (and i know this is a gross generalization) waste their life watching television, reading The Daily Mail and talking absolute crap. The amount of times my middle-aged cousin has tryed to outsmart me and failed is not even funny anymore. In my case ive met hundreds of intelligent kids and very few intelligent adults. So I can't understand this 99.9% thing personally. |

Me and friends tried to watch garden state a few days ago, after about 5 minutes we watched it ffws, which is good cus it makes the audio funny, but it was still boring and shit so we stopped it halfway. |
Teenagers blow. Turning 20's the best thing that ever happened to me. ;-) All the advantages of youth without the oily skin, pimples, shit voice and shitter level of intelligence. Of course, 21 will be shit - I'll officially be an adult. I'd better make this year count...
|
"Shitter level of intelligence"
I don't get this. I'm 18 and still more intelligent than most of the older people I know. Hell not to be too arrogant but I was at 15 too! |
Quote:
I agree, you're absolutely right. I'm a complete waste of energy. But I'm not gonna do anyone a favor by disappearing. |
![]() Damn young people, with their grimey rave hair and their perfect bodies and portable phones. In my day, all we had was black-and-white TV and Findus crispy pancakes, and that was good enough for me. Sure, we had bananas, but we used to know 'em as yellow fatty beans. And another thing,....zzzz..... |

Quote:
Why, sir, you are spoiling us with your 'public' hair. |
Quote:
LMAO!!!!!!! I was about to post a reply like that. Its probebly the fact that its public that is changing your life so |

I find it difficult to believe that the majority of older people you know don't display any signs of intelligence whatsoever, or at least not enough so that it would lead you to believe--probably mistakenly--that you are more intelligent than them. |
trust me....you havent met most of the adults I know (just talking from my experience). I just find it quite condesending to put down teenagers all the time. Intellegence depends on the person really.
I remember growing up and hating the fact that I knew loads about politics and these middle-aged Sun reading idiots that would seemingly always be around could go and vote (and vote things like BNP most of the time). And they would argue with me all the time about things and always think they were right (when I had in read hundreds of books on these said topics) sololy because they were older. In particular they would be really condesending about music (something I always knew a great deal about) thinking I could not possibly know anything of the music that came before i was born (when in reality the 70s amounted to no more than the BeeGees and Abba for them). I never had intellegent adults around but the people I hung out with were always very intellegent, well-spoken and could wipe the floor in a debate with anyone twice their age. It instilled in me a respect for teenagers and kids that will never leave me. |
