(including side projects/solo albums of those bands)

no contest:
sonic youth, i have 50-plus bootlegs, not counting official stuff and related (solo projects, etc.) i haven't counted but maybe the second band i have a lot of stuff of is boredoms. actually, that's a fact, i don't know how much stuff by them i have though 116 things of genesis and related? that's a whole lotta genesis... |
I have more Stereolab bootlegs than I counted in my previous post....probably 8-10 more discs.
|
prob. sonic youth and nirvana
30 something each. I havent been getting much bootlegs recently due to the lack or cd-rs. |
sonic youth. ten cds, a cd-r, and a kickass poster (the one with the goo cover that announces nirvana and stp are playing with them in portland and seattle).
|
Sonic Youth, I have about 20 items. Not too many, but I'll easily have 50 by the end of the summer :)

Haha...Yeah. They were my first musical obsession, when I was in Junior High. I was into prog and 70's rock before I discovered alternative/indie. |
i've got 25-30 various they might be giant things
|
i like king crimson a whole lot but i'm very much a newbie to them, i have one album, one official bootleg (burnt) and like three boots.
i'm also getting into 70's era yes. i have nothing against good prog i've heard some songs from the lamb lies down on broadway and other early genesis songs, i can say i like them. the latter stuff...let's just say it's not my style at all |

I'm probably the biggest Gabriel-era Genesis fan on the board, as far as I can tell. But yeah, it was a phase I went through when I first started listening to rock music--entertaining stuff, but a let down for me ultimately. I don't listen to it much anymore. I have all of the albums, but I don't have any bootlegs or anything. I'm not very interested in live concert recordings of any band.... |
I like Genesis up to a point. Duke (1980) is their last good album, IMO. I still have some of the later stuff (but not all) on cassette, from long ago.
The Lamb is one of my all-time favorite albums. Of Crimson, my favorites are probably Red, and the 80's albums Discipline, Beat, and Three of a Perfect Pair. I don't care much for the recent stuff, except I do like the Projeckts box set. I'm really more of a Fripp fan. I recommend Robert Fripp's album of Frippertronics called Let the Power Fall, and his collaborations with Brian Eno. I like League of Gentlemen, but I prefer the version that is on vinyl, as it has the female vocals that Fripp edited out for the CD version. Here is what I own from them: 1 King CrimsonRed (1974) Vinyl2 King CrimsonDiscipline (1981) Vinyl3 King CrimsonBeat (1982) Vinyl4 King CrimsonThree of a Perfect Pair (1984) Vinyl5 King CrimsonThree of a Perfect Pair: Live in Japan (1985) VHS6 King CrimsonFrame By Frame [4CD Box] (1991) CD7 King CrimsonThe Great Deceiver - Live 1973-1974 (1992) CD8 King CrimsonVrooom (1994) CD9 King CrimsonB'Boom (1995) CD10 King CrimsonThe Noise: Live At Frejus 1982 (video) (1997) VHS11 King CrimsonThe ProjeKcts (1999) CD |
Nirvana (I have 5-6 posters, every CD, the boxset, quite a few shirts and other various things)
Sonic Youth (7-8 CDs [and still counting] and a shirt) |
I don't own anything Nirvana related.
|
I never understood Nirvana.
|
that's a great collection of crimson/fripp stuff. the official boot i was talking about is this: King CrimsonB'Boom (1995)
you are also probably the only person i know who prefer the 80's crimson as opposed to the 70's or the 90's/00's eras |
Nirvana: I've heard most of their stuff here and there and I like it, but I've never wanted to buy an album or anything. I think I missed the boat and now it's too late.
|
i have in utero and nevermind on tape, bleach and incesticide on cd-r, the live tonight sold out boot vhs; and the colour and the shape and one by one (both cd-r) by the foo fighters.
that's my nirvana and related collection...oh and the probot cd-r, expecting to be replaced by vinyl soon! |
Sonic Youth is easily #1
![]() Some other bands I have lots of: Minutemen REM Replacements Husker Du Devo Cure |

I definitely have a lot of Nirvana, Hole probably comes 2nd.
|
Cool pic, EMMah...is that you?
and YES! Sara Lee is the chick whose vocals Robert Fripp totally edited out of the album when he re-released League of Gentlemen. You can only hear her vocals if you locate the out of print vinyl. |
sonic youth (over 60)
einsturzende neubauten (over 20) |
SY
and then Neutral Milk Hotel |

He did it because he's an A-hole, in addition to being a brilliant guitarist...and yeah, she played bass. If you can find the album, check it out. Her vocals are really cool.
|

I feel the exact way. I like the band, I just wish I lived through that era. |
wilco and jeff tweedy. I must have about 40 shows, and 6 dvds. next is sonic youth, then elvis costello.
|
Pink Floyd, owing back to my highschool days. Don't remember how many traded cdrs nor cassetes I have, the bulk being bootlegs I used to trade for blanks (ahhh the good old days). Heck I even used to have a poster on my wall. Stopped short of the t-shirt though.
|
The Fall, by some way. But there is so much stuff (official and semi-official) that that's hardly surprising. Then Sonic Youth, then Aphex Twin. Both of those are nearly exclusively CD, with a limited (ie one or two items) amount of vinyl.
The most vinyl is The Smiths - LP's, 12" singles and 7" singles. |
Nirvana/Pixies/Sonic Youth
|
Sonic Youth:
20 CDs 1 LP Corporate Ghost 1991: The Year Punk Broke 2 T-Shirts |
