I have three of your holy grails.

Two of mine are bootleg LPs with great sounds and killer performances:

Darkside - Psychedelicise Suburbia
Loop - red Italian bootleg (I got the CD of this when it came out, then saw the 2xLP version a week later and couldn't afford it; I've been kicking myself ever since)

Overhang Party's 1st LP as well, but I can never afford it on the rare occasions it comes up for sale.

Glice 04.10.2007 04:23 PM

D'you know, a few years ago I'd've had a list as long as your arm (knowing, of course, how alarmingly long your arms are). Now, I can't think of a single one. I'm really rather happy about that.

MellySingsDoom 04.10.2007 04:27 PM

I wouldn't mind the Big Black "Sound Of Impact" bootleg LP - have seen it a few times in London for ridiculous amounts of money.

pantophobia 04.10.2007 04:42 PM

Metalux - Flourescent Towers
Free Kitten - Call Now (Ecstatic Peace 12")
any Sam Most i can find (quite rare, never has been reissued on CD)
Sun City Girls - Torch of the Mystics
Bardo Pond - the Volumes (i fucked up by not picking them up early on)
The Believers - Brontoursaurus
Helium - The American Jean 7"
Half Japanese - Half Gentlemen, Not Beasts
Scorces - S/T
Nurse with Wound - Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table
Hanatarash - Hanatarashi; 2; 3; 4 Aids-A-Delic
C.C.C.C. - Flash

and any various colored vinyl of things i already have

Hanatarash is the only thing where i mentioned more then one, if only for the fact they rule all

jennthebenn 04.10.2007 04:49 PM

MINNA TANOSHIKU SHONEN KNIFE [Aug.1982] - XA: XA-2015 (Cassette)
Banana Leaf/Parrot Polynesia/Cannibal Papaya/Saboten/Burning Farm/Parallel Woman/An Angel Has Come/Spider/I Am a Realist/Voice of Crane/Tortoise Brand Pot Cleaner's Theme/Planet X/Summertime Boogie/Miracles

their first ever release, limited to 70 copies (50 in the original press, then
a second run of 20 before the band ordered it stopped). i check ebay for
this every day; the only time i have seen it up for sale is on gemm.com,
where a supposed near-mint copy is being offered up for $632.50. i would pay a maximum of $300 for it as of right now...if 6 months from now it
was still available at the current price, i'd pay that. don't look at me that
way.

Toilet & Bowels 04.10.2007 06:33 PM

i'd say $632.50 is worth it

Cows - Cunning Stunts
Hammerhead - Evil Twin 10" (or the cd version of it)

if you do--congratulations. awesome score.

Everyneurotic 04.10.2007 10:28 PM

i aim very low, there's like 10 000 albums i'd love to have but i don't keep a list for them, i've scored a few without much expectation and i think that helps.

i kick myself for not picking gn'r's appetite for destruction with the original cover but, then again, i like the second cover better.

sonicl 04.11.2007 03:22 AM

Toilet & Bowels 04.17.2007 06:53 PM

that destroy all monsters box set that i'm after was on ebay last week and it went for £45 which is more more that i can justify spending at the moment.

Iain 04.17.2007 09:36 PM

NO WAY! That's cheap for that box. It's on Amazon for about $300 from a marketplace seller. I think I might have paid £45 for that box.

Rob Instigator 04.18.2007 09:12 AM

that's a lot of dough for some records man!
destroy all monsters? gonna look it up.

whorefrost 04.18.2007 09:23 AM

Harsh 70s Reality

hat and beard 04.18.2007 12:39 PM

Original PSF 3/4 Fushitsusha LP. I very nearly bought it off ebay for $120 the other day. I decided I'd rather eat this month.
also...
Fushitsusha - I saw it! That which before I could only sense.
Sun City Girls - 330,003 Crossdressers... + Torch of the Mystics
NNCK - Birth of Both Worlds
Parson Sound - s/t
Don Cherry - Orient
I'm pretty much always on the look out for any Haino, NNCK, and Sun Ra artificats that I don't already own.

MellySingsDoom 04.18.2007 02:29 PM

Any of those BYG LPs from the early 70's. I only have the Sonny Sharrock one, and that kicks serious bottom.

Phlegmscope 05.12.2007 01:14 PM

Thanks to Pookie I don't need to worry about the Hammerhead one on my list anymore.
Brilliant.

Rob Instigator 05.24.2007 10:17 AM

'Tis that, indeed. The idiot who owned it previously to me scribbled "Wierd" on the cover.

Gulasch Noir 06.28.2007 05:25 AM

I want to get hold of Charalambides' Market Square at a reasonable price and mint condition one day. Two weeks ago I bought "Our Bed Is Green" (new) for $ 55. I was looking for that also quite long. Another one would be Wolfgang Ambros' Zentralfriedhof.

Toilet & Bowels 06.28.2007 05:47 AM

didn't our bed is green get reissued a year ago?

yeah, i bought it both on cd and vinyl, great stuff.

Toilet & Bowels 06.28.2007 11:21 PM

i downloaded it, and wasn't that into it, it's the only charalambides record i've heard so far that i haven't liked, i should try it again

Everyneurotic 06.28.2007 11:30 PM

how's moonblood, t&b? never heard of them but the name and album title are intriguing.

I think it was re-released in 2005 and I saw it on midheaven a few months ago for $ 27 or so, but hesitated too long. Then I saw it at e-bay and thought I must have it.

Iain 06.30.2007 09:43 AM

Was it reissued on Timelag? Their vinyl is pricey from the word go but they are usually beautiful items.
