Alrighty people. Reccomend me some cds for my weekly cd spree
I want indie rock from the early 90's or late 80's. I already have the first three pavement albums in expanded form, and am holding out for BTC in expanded. I have all of Dinos good albums. I want Sebadoh or something similar. I have all the Flaming lips albums from the 90's except ambulance and Zaireeka!. Hurry!

Scientists - Sedition or Blood Red River Triffids - Born Sandy Devotional or Calenture |
Keep it Australian, then:
New Christs - Distemper |
Anything not Australian?

So Pavement qualifies as indie, yet EN do not? |
Another suggestion, with which I'm sure Lux will agree:
The Cramps - Bad Music for Bad People or Psychedelic Jungle or Songs the Lord Taught Us or Stay Sick or Flamejob or Off The Bone or Smell of Female or A Date With Elvis. |
If we're not being limited to 'guitar based' indie then I'd recommend the Australian home grown wonderfulness of 'Severed Heads' - City Slab Horror in particular.
|
Mmm...Cramps.
|
Guitar based 80's/90's indie, how about these 4 (as a starter for ten)
archers of loaf band of susans mission of burma tar This could be a really loooooonnnng list if I put my mind to it! |
Nat Baldwin - Lights Out

Positraction took over my LIFE a few months ago - I love it. I've only got A Gilded Eternity by Loop though - I... well... it's good stuff, but it's not exactly seminal. Just solid. |
Anyone hear of Nick Cave's new band "Grinderman"? I was browsing the new releases on BarnesandNoble.com and stumbled upon it and was skimming over the tracks, it sounds pretty cool. Guess if you're a Cave fan you'd want to check this out.

Alright i'm back now. I bought III, Bakesale, Bubble and Scrape and Westing (By Musket and Sextant). Remember this is Australia so I couldn't find any Jesus Lizard and only 2 Throwing Muses albums. No Polvo either.
|
good choices.
for yr next spree: liars- drums not dead andrew bird- armchair apocrypha cloud cult- the meaning of 8 illinois- what the hell do i know? ted leo/pharmacists- living with the living busdriver- roadkillovercoat harlem shakes- burning birthdays |
There's no way i'm going to find most of those bands here in Australia. And I don't want to listen to any band started after 2000. But thanks anyway.
