today is a holiday here, but that doesn't stop me from having to go to work. at least it will be quiet.

Here it's Koninginnedag, which means the city will be filled with people boozing and selling their old junk on the streets... gotta go now or I'll be late... for work I mean, not for boozing.

We had a visit to our garden from two ducks this morning, which was a lovely way to start the day.





Sadly I had to come to work though, so it's all downhill from here.

i wish there were ducks in my garden. only bugs. not that insects aren't neat, but hey there's googles of them to go around.

No, Koninginnedag is just one day, but I have a holiday with that for some unknown reason...

You're school probably makes a bridge between holidays.
We have some sort of holiday tomorrow and our school makes the brigde between sunday and tuesday.

I'm not even halfway into my first cup of coffee, so I'm not yet sure if the morning is good or not.

how can you still feel caffeine impacts? i used to drink about 10 cups of coffee just to be able to move. now i drink 2 cups a day and no speed effects..

when I start to feel "normal". :p

the coffee pot is so close to my desk that I don't even have to get up. I make 2 pots a day and end up drinking most of it myself.

but yeah....the days of getting a caffeine rush are long gone. now it just makes me baseline.

I guess it's similar in atmosphere to what St. Patrick's day would be in Ireland/UK.

Unlike most people I had to work, so I didn't have the opportunity to get drunk in public like most people seem to celebrate this holiday. I did have a quick look at some of the freemarkets (it's the one day in the year where anyone can stall out their old junk or anything out on the streets to sell it) and bought a cheap watch with a stopwatch for 2 euros of some chinese guy. Now I can finally check if there's any improvement in my jogging performances.

It's a whole week's holiday because this week has many school holidays (koninginnedag - april 30th, labour day - may 1st, liberation day - may 5th). I remember when they were all separate holidays (for schools, not for the working crowds) before someone had the bright idea to combine them into a whole week.

You should take Buzzo out for a picnic and to fly a kite, if you get the chance.

Sorry, I'm too busy this week. Don't have a kite either.

Perhaps you could take him sailing instead?
