Arctic Monkeys - Favourite Worst Nightmare
 

Just bought it, i am a fan of the AM i find their tunes really cool and fun to dance to and the lyrics i dig too.

Havnt listened to the whole new album yet but im getting there.

No I don't like them.

Their singers lyrics and singing style are cringe worthy, I saw a blur song on tv the other day after kaiser cheifs or something and even that sounded clever in comparison.

in anal alien's defence i should say that glice regularly mentions far worse music than these guys (admittedly i've never heard their music) but they can't be much worse than alisha's attic or any of other glice's alleged interests

they are a fun band, write catchy tunes and u can dance to the music

Surely no worse than people admitting to liking RATM, Madonna, the new Stooges record etc.

Incidentally, I've never heard Arctic Monkeys, so this may be worse, but I doubt it.

It's not crime, i like the odd Menswear song. I think i've only heard one song of theirs and it was filed into the 'whatever' section. There's a lot of talk about them at the moment because they have something like 18 songs in the charts.

i cant stand them.

i heard that BYOP will be touring with the am.

oh i dont care that i like them and 99% of the people in here dont.
Im sure there is a bunch of noise bands that are wayyy to indie for me to enjoy

Once the Beatles' catalogue will be put up for sale on itunes (unless it already has), they are expecting the charts to be flooded with obladi obladas all over the place.

guess we will have to hate the beatles then too, bummer i was liking them

I found an AM sticker in a record store, couldn't be bothered to take it. it was left unatended.

I like the Artic Monkeys. They're not genius but they're fun, and they got real good songs as I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor

Yeah, they're okay and listenable.

Hating bands is so last century. The (not so) new wave of disliking a band says that you have to feel total indifference towards them.

the AM show i went to i had a hell of a time, me and my friend were asked to come back to this 30 yr old couples house to fuck his wife..who was a hot hot babe i might add...we decided they were serial killers and we would wake up with no splein the next morning and declined...but it made for a good story.

yeah, that's probably true.

being indifferent to the am is probably impossible(edit: hard at least), though.

they dont really interest me, they are like the kaiser chiefs or razorlight one of those bands that exist but i dont trouble myself with. no doubt they will receive a lifetime acheivemnt award soon.

i heard that britpopy guitar sound and stupid smile on your face while i was reading this. it really looks like one of those funny indie stories...

it was pretty crazy when he approached us, it might of been me coming down from the drugs but for the next few days i couldnt sleep properly and couldnt stop thinking of them asking us.

the arctic monkeys are fun enough to dance around to, but i wouldn't buy their record because it's just not the sort of thing i enjoy sitting down and listening to. definitely good party music though!

I really like 'When The Sun goes Down' and the brilliant extended Scummy Man short film they did for it. The album cover for Favourite Worst Nightmare is ace too. As is Bloc Party's new album cover...i won't be buying a Bloc Party album in any hurry though.

AM seem a little to much like the Libertines, just they don't do the Libertines as well. Whatever anyone wants to say about Pete, I thought the Libs were really quite a great band.

first up, i think the mass popularity of the monkeys cloud the fact that they are a real good band for a bunch of, lets face it, kids who just wanna play good songs. dancefloor is a kick ass song and so is about 75% of the first album but now this new, long awated eagerly anticipated album arrived and i think its a bag of shite. thy have become so big that the music now kinda is formulaic to the point that they now have found out how to write hit songs. half the glory in the first album is that they werent trying to write hit songs..... thats the fun part, thats when talent shines, not when you become old hats at the game by the time you are 20. fair play to the monkeys th, they are gonna dissappear of my radar but not off millions of others............

I saw them at Coachella while waiting for JAMC to come on. I really enjoyed it. The music was ok but the crowd was crazy and that's what made it fun.

This is something I'd agree with... Though I think that the artic monkeys have more of a place than some other bands - and they actually do some clever things - but out of preferance I dont really like them.

i don't think they're all that bad.. wouldn't really actively listen to them ever, but if they come on the radio, i'll leave it on, and if i hear it in a club i don't mind too much... i think they are much better than Kaiser Chiefs, Razorlight and other bands of that ilk..

Their lyrics are vaguely interesting (on the newspaper someone compared them to Dizzie Rascal, and to a certain degree I agree with that) , but they are musically beyond dull. Either way, If somebody likes them , It's cool and all that.

Disco, Techno, Hip Hop etc etc. I don't stick to anything in particular, but i have preferences in every single genre of music that i happen to know, just like anyone else. I hope it didn't come accross as i was saying that one MUST NOT like The Artic Monkeys, because that's not the case. As i posted yesterday, i probably like music thast could be considered bad by some, it's not the point, i was only expressing an opinion and not trying to tell anyone what to like or not to like.
