Bjiork's new album doesn't suck!!!

Good news, I really like it.

ALIEN ANAL 05.05.2007 08:46 AM

any tunes on the net where i can listen to some of it?

Pookie 05.05.2007 08:46 AM

I've heard a couple of tracks and it sounds good to me.

Have you got it porky?

demonrail666 05.05.2007 08:47 AM

There was that 'Earth Intruders' one flying about on here. A bit of a love it or hate it thing, from what I remember.

sarramkrop 05.05.2007 08:49 AM

My friend has a promotional copy and we listened to it a lot last night. It really is good, the album I've always whished she would make. Crap songs on there too.

MellySingsDoom 05.05.2007 08:50 AM

I like the way that Bjork has chosen to dress up as a giant Orangina bottle.

That is all.

atsonicpark 05.05.2007 08:54 AM

go bjirok!

atari 2600 05.05.2007 08:56 AM

I'm hoping it's good because I was rapt while viewing her SNL performance, yet have read several lukewarm reviews so far.

///guess that's why he's emphatically denying that it sucks, unlike the opinion of some reviewers so far.

demonrail666 05.05.2007 08:58 AM

A return-to-form album has been due for a while now. Something tells me this won't be it, though. I'll buy it nonetheless.

sarramkrop 05.05.2007 08:59 AM

I don't read reviews. I listen to records.

I have read reviews for this, they've been all good, and it matters not one whit to me either way.

In other words: what porky said.

Georgekrz 05.05.2007 10:45 AM

how can you return to form when everything you do is genius? haha

i was at the Radio City show, and im going tonight as well. one of the best shows out there, no doubt about it.

NWRA 05.05.2007 11:39 AM

I dislike the lyrics of Earth Intruders (I'm instantly turned off by lyrics which call for listener unison, i.e., which use the word 'we', as in 'we are the Earth Intruders'; I'm not a cocking Earth Intruder, whatever one is!) but the music is brilliant. Hopefully though, it doesn't go too far on the 'one world' theme, and sound like the kind of music you expect at a carnival with Chinese dragons and parading aborigines, etc, which I fear.

your post is a review though. :p

hm im happy you like it. im not in anry urge to listen to it though but i might. earth intruders was funny, and i enjoyed the beat.

as for the rest, i'll trust your review and try to find it.

Green Magnesium 05.05.2007 02:10 PM

I didn't like Earth Intruders ... but i've only heard it once. Vespertine will probably always be my favorite album of hers. It's the only one that's flawless in my mind. Of course I still love everything else from her... except Debut.

I'm certainly going to be picking this up.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 05.05.2007 06:22 PM

Her last two albums have been my favorites, I'll be surprised if this is as good as either.

jimbrim 05.05.2007 08:19 PM

is Antony's contribution any good?

atari 2600 05.05.2007 08:35 PM

I've heard the track he's (Antony Hegarty) on, "The Dull Flame of Desire," gets old due to the overly theatrical vamping on the lyric "I love your eyes, my dear" that goes on and on for too long. The song is supposed to have a nice horn section that opens it though.

No, it's not. I'm not a music journalist.

Pitchfork's review (rating : 5.8 :( ): http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/articl...ew/42768-volta

cryptowonderdruginvogue 05.08.2007 02:40 PM

pitchfork is stupid, the album is great.

Glice 05.08.2007 02:49 PM

I heard this yesterday. I was in a car. I was being transported, and I had beer all over me from a particularly whippy corner. In spite of this, I enjoyed the album, and give it 2 furlongs and 12 livestock.

A Thousand Threads 05.08.2007 03:20 PM

I´ve heard some songs of it, they were ok.
Not as annoying as i thought it would be.

I won´t buy it, though.

Green Magnesium 05.08.2007 11:40 PM

I picked it up today and really liked it. 'Dull Flame of Desire' is a little TOO long and repetitive though. 'I See Who You Are' and 'Declare Independence' are my favorite upon first listen. I had never heard Antony before this release, and I think his voice will have to grow on me. Right now he's sounding a lot like Nina Simone under water. Pitchfork was right about one thing: this isn't a pop album.

king_buzzo 05.09.2007 03:35 AM

Haven't heard it yet.

It certainly was the DVD from the Vespertine era (the "Live at the Royal Opera" one)

I still find it abit odd that Corsano and Chippendale are on this album...
good for them though.

And i saw the SNL performance a few weeks ago, and boy was that even more odd to see Corsano on SNL and then at the end credits where they have everyone on stage... he stood in the rear with this bewildered look on his face, while everyone else hugged each other like they all won a million dollars.

Torn Curtain 05.09.2007 05:17 PM

I'm listening to the record and I like it, it may be her best since Homogenic.
