Shellac pics 05-30-2007 Verona, italy
uaaah, my first shellac live experience!
Right now I can't provide a decent setlist, I'll think about it and update the post asap. They started off with "A minute" , ended with "Watch song", and they played "Killers"!!! AAAAaaah, I love "killers", I freaked out when they played it. The new material was simply amazing live, I didn't listen to the record (don't want to dl it), the only titles I know are "The end of Radio" and "Paco", looking at tracklists online I think they played almost all the new songs, "Genuine Lulabelle" was wonderful. All in all one of my fav gigs of all times, I was kinda surprised of how I felt genuinely entertained and had great fun throughout the whole show, I supposed it would have been a "harder" experience if you know what I mean. Me and my friends took the wrong turn on the highway and had to travel 40 kms more, this caused us to get to the venue like 40 minutes later than we thought, and we ended up being in the 5th/6th row in the audience, I had quite a hard time trying to take pics in that sabbath (plus, the lights were a bit too dark, Steve was the only one "properly" lit, his pics came out better), and cell phones should be banned, too many arms with those shiny cells that took pics and videos in the air during the whole set. Oh, they asked, PLEASE, not to record or videotape the show. Now I'll shut the fuck up, here are the pics, ladies and getlemen, Shellac: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Yeah, they are very sharp despite the audience and the darkness.
|
some of those are fuckin beautiful man, what are you talking about!
i particularly like the one of steve where the mic actually looks like some depraved form of breathing apparatus or cannibalism muzzle . .. perfect horror show. |
thanks farmhouse, resizing helps making them look prettier ;)
|
What's going on in the first picture?
|
Steve and Bob are playing the "front" cymbals, Todd the "rear" one :)
|
Hah, simply that is what it appears.
Great pictures by the way. I've been holding a 'prayer to god' every night that I may soon see Shellac. |
yep, nothing "too" strange, but highly coreographic (and thanks!).
|
that first photo is fucking awesome... nic nice pics. thy look like they were proffessionally done for official artwork... doesnt trainer look damn cool.
|
Great pictures. The 8th is my favourite.
|
that's the "I am an aeroplane!" shot :)
|
Well done! Among the best pictures (of anything) I've seen on this board.
|
thanks lux -
Trainer was a god yesterday. A good looking god, not an old bearded guy kind of god. |
Excellent photos, my good buddy. You should be being internationally syndicated.
|
wonderful pictures~!!! Gald you got to see the erratically scheduled shellac!
I saw them in Houston a year ago and it was amazing. |
Hudson Hawk's finished. I'll put some more pics up, the feedbacks are encouraging ;) .
On a side note, "completely" is leading the poll. Still 999 days to go. |
Nah, I want to go out for a walk, I'll work tomorrow on the pics...here's a little video of the gig's grand finale...I couldn't resist, even if they asked not to film ;) ... it's taken with the digital camera and it's little (I didn't check the settings) and quite predictably the audio is crappy (unbearable for the internal mics of the camera), but todd's gaze alone is worth downloading.

You're right, the audio was crap, but that was pretty cool nonetheless. |

my god, that picture is amazing. where dyou find that? |
That's , as you can see, from the tiexie dvd site, they made those fancy "burn to shine" dvds, on vol.2 there's a great Shellac live performance of "steady as she goes", Bob cured the recording for all performances (the sound is simply amazing), that Shellac pic is from the "press" pics for the different bands.
there's this one too, only albini: http://www.trixiedvd.com/btspress/bt.../shellac02.jpg more Trainer on the dvd cover: http://www.trixiedvd.com/btspress/bt...-cover_art.jpg bob at work http://www.trixiedvd.com/btspress/bts02photos/bob02.jpg http://www.trixiedvd.com/btspress/bts02photos/bob01.jpg |

Cool pictures!
I voted for 'is' in the poll. |
"completely" is still leading:
This is a video of the first song of this very gig , "A minute"... the cameraman/woman must have parkinson's, but it's nice. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Qvfgxfri48 |
