stay away from Taos or the Navy's ELF will make your head buzz FOREVER!!

I've spent a lot of time in the northwest part of the state.
do ya like trailer parks? Mexico, the next generation, has got quite a few. Plus everything like stores, etc., is built right off the highway so you can park wherever. oh, and there are a lot of abandoned warehouse-type buildings, too. and a lot of rust. if you're into rust, and rust related things, get there quick. albuequerque is the homicide capital of the usa/santa fe has leftover paisley wearing don henly types from the 80's (still with the required pony tail/vest ensemble) |
Just finished reading a newspaper article and it sounds really cool. Not somewhere I've ever thought about really, but it seems like a really nice place.
The food sounds awesome. |

holy ass that is a perfect description of the state. perfect. Quote:
lies, sir. well for a vacation, if you like looking at large orange rocks, it's ok. oh, also "the weather is nice" . how is that for a cultural achievement? the food is ok, if you want awesome go to OLD mexico and bring your disentery medicine. |
Well. That's THAT then. Damn.
|
I'm shocked that nobody mentioned the REAL reason why people go to New Mexico....
FREE PEYOTE. |

ha ha, it's not quite so terrible. go for the landscapes mostly. ![]() thinking of it now, for someone like you who lives in a cold rainy island this must be "exotic". |

You see, I do actually find that quite pleasent. Compared with the view from where I am right now. ![]() |

you'd like my backyard then: ![]() talking about "working your way around the world", we are in need of a butler. would you make a good butler? we'd feed you, give you a place to sleep and give you sundays off. if you're interested... Quote:
shhhh... it's not "free". it's a sacrament. ;) |

I went to Albuquerque for a few days during spring break. It was cool there. I walked a mile from my hotel to some museums. Very cool dinosaur museums in New Mexico.
|
it's alright
|
OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHH My body would melt, and stick to the soles of you hunky men, if I where to step into New Mexico in the Summer.
|
I lived in Albuquerque for two years. To the east were the Sandia mountains and to the west were dead volcanos. I loved riding around the mountains on my motorcyle. I had a Yamaha XS1100 back then.
The food is awesome - there was this place Sadie's that I used to go to that was inside a bowling alley. They made the best pitchers of margaritas. You'd have a great mexican meal with the margaritas, get totally trashed and go bowling. Lots of fun. My fave restaurant was probably Garcia's Kitchen. They made the best Carne Adovada burritos. Other than the landscapes, fishing, mountains, volcanos, museums, great riding, and food...the place sucked...ha ha ha!! http://www.garciaskitchen.com/ http://dine.com/restaurants/rid/104284/index.html |
