How would you convey being on drugs in film?
 

There is a lot of movies where people are on drugs and we are suppose to be seeing it from their point of view, but as im sure a lot of you know they get it terribly wrong, animals talking to you after just smoking weed.:rolleyes:

So how would you convey being on drugs in a film, or whats a film that you think shows being on drugs properly.

I am cheeesy i like when That 70's Show does drug scenes and then someone goes up stairs to make toast or something and the wallpaper is moving around on the walls.

i was watching a scanner darkly the other night and the scene where they are standing around being paranoid about someone breaking into their house, i found that really funny and true as to how a group of guys high and parnoid act, wasnt too over the top and you almost felt like they could be right.

The New Orleans section of Easy Rider is pretty trippy, reminds me of a bad time I had on Hawaiian Baby Dogrose seeds.

when i was on shrooms all i seen was colours, and the best way to describe it is you know when u look at street lights at night and u can see the glare coming from it..and u know the glare isnt real, but its clearly visible, thats what it was like

edit: oh and a painting i looked at looked like one of those magic eye images where it pops out at you, i thought that was cool

That's the best trip scene I've seen, definitely.

I'd put a caption with "remember that this guy/girl is on drugs" in all the scenes where it's needed.

hmmhmmhmmif someone's on heroin, you could just make the camera look kinda blurry and uncaring/unsympathetic to any situation by being kinda sepia toned and a little shakey and not focusing on anything in particular. not that i've done heroin, just.. y'know.if someone's on the fuckin ROBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, show lots of heavenly clouds and television static shots and people floating.
