ive seen a lot of these drummers before and man i cant fathom they all being in one place at one time... so its interesting to see none of the boredoms are playing in the circle. i assume they are conducting it?

Maybe they're just setting this thing up to sit down and enjoy watching/listening it! ;) |
No, they're on a raised platform in the center of the madness, which is why this list only goes to 74. And Sara fucking Lund? Shit yes.
wow.. the icy demons dude! i didn't realize he was playing.
uhh... i KNOW this will be bootlegged/videotaped... but damn.. to actually be there.. shit. i'm sure it'll be the greatest thing in the history of mankind. |
It may very well be. I'll be sure to take lots of pictures and link them up here.
No recording would be able to capture the awesomeness.
14 Andrew W.K.
nobody complained about him yet! Ha ha! well, I kinda like him, so no prob for me. |
Andrew Wk's Gonna Start A Robo Party
i imagine this being a painfully long progressive tribal polyrythym thing.
Drummers are lame.... |

ya think? this is gonna be amazing. life changing. |
I want it to be professionally recorded and then CD-released :( it's gonna be fuckin' amazing
I'm not a sound engineer (maybe terminal pharmacy could answer to this), but how THE HELL ARE YOU supposed to mic' 77 drumsets???
hmm, maybe don't mic them? just mic the boredoms's and then have the others play without mics. would make nice quiet rhythms underneath. i kinda had the feeling that's what would happen anyway.
I'd sell my soul to go to this, man.
why mic 77 drums, you know how loud that's going to get?
I was thinking about a recording of the gig, actually.... how should it be done?
overhead ambient mics all around.
steve albini should record it..
I would so love to go to this.... oh well, at least we can still watch Live Earth instead.
Live Earth!! Yeah!!!!
ohh yeah, there's no more injustice and misery in africa thanks to live aid.
external debt was forgiven to poor countries thanks to live 8 and now global warming will be over thanks to LIVE EARTH!!!! |
Global Warming will end when these 77 drummers play, this I know.
or proven inexistant.
I couldn't get in, the line was something like 10 blocks long, a couple of thousand people. This sucks.
Should've waited since last week.

77 Boadrum was the sickest thing I have ever experienced. There are no words. 100 minutes long! I'll never be the same.
some youtube and flickr links... hope there will be some longer video/audio recordings soon.

Seems like most of the people going there didn't get in... |
thankyou!
two more... you can see eYe in these.

these videos are awesome..
I drove all the way down from past Albany to go to this, had an RSVP and everything and was denied. The RSVP notice said they would be letting people in as people left, a one in-one out type deal which turned out to be not true. Shit suuuuuuuuuucked. However, me and my friends sat near the water under the bridge with a beautiful scene of the city and we could hear the performance perfectly. We snuck passed people after the performance and I got to meet Eye and the fucking Butthole Surfers which made the trip worth it. :) |
fantastic stuff. Looking at that line-up was a bit weird though. Imagine if terrorists had decided to drop a burn on the park, you could pretty much say goodbye to decent music for an entire generation. Too much talent in one place.

not true. |
it suuuuure would be awesome if this got released as a DVD/CD deal.
