Rollcall for McCarren Pool Park Brooklyn. Who's going?
 

I've seen Sonic youth over 15 times and have never been further away than 15-20 yards. Is it possible to get close to them here? Also since I've never been to that area before is thier anything to do before the show around there? Who's up to meet?

i am. you can get about five feet from the stage. that space is where security walks/stands. the stage is elevated but you won't strain your neck if you're close.

I'll be close by chilling out in the park, listenin' as best i can. That is, if i can't find someone nice enough to give me an extra ticket, possibly sell, if i feel suddenly inclined to spend the thirty-something bucks.

I'll be there. Looks like there could be some rain folks...and count on some scalpers, there were quite a few at last year's sy shows at the pool.

i have to go to new jersey for the weekend, plus i haven't bought a ticket.

i wanted to see the slits so badly, but oh well, it's a reunion anyway.

I'll be there, for sure. show number 10. the pool is a great spot for shows, i think it's better than the summer stage in central park.

well it looks like it'll rain. this sucks. i hope it doesnt rain that much. do you think it'll make the show less enjoyable?

it wont matter if it rains. might make it more memorable.

If it rains, that will just induce sparks and electricution of the band which they will obviously be unharmed by so it'll be all the better.

Is it a safe area? I have a few hours to kill before the show and was thinking of hitting up some pubs.

yeah, its in the hippest, trendiest neighberhood of brooklyn... hipsters abound, its poised to be taken over by yuppies, with fresh condominiums sprouting up all around the park... there's plenty of good places to drink.

bar matchless, thats prob my favorite bar, and its right there across the street from the park and about 3 minutes from the pool. 2 for 1 happy hour.

As for the rain, they said the same for the police show here in philly last week, hail actually, yet it did not rain...

Very safe area indeed. And greendog, i'm going to make a guess at saying SY will take the stage between 8 and 8:30 because the show has to be over by 10 for the noise ordinance in the neighborhood.

I do still have one extra ticket. PM me if you're interested. Face value, but you have to come to lower Manhattan to get it.

i am going, and rsvp is nonsense. it looks like if you dont have rsvp confirmation they will make you wait in line at least until 4:30. that sucks.
