Albums that need the Re-Issue Treatment

Re-Issues: Albums with B-Sides, Surround Sound recording, live tracks, etc.

Sonic Youth-Daydream Nation

Faith No More-AngelDust

The Clash-Self-Titled

Nirvana-Nevermind (of course)

Radiohead-The Bends
Radiohead-Ok Computer

Sex Pistols-Nevermind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols

Alright, let you guys take it from here.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 05.05.2006 05:32 PM

My Bloody Valentine - Loveless

They should just combine the Tremolo EP, the Glider EP, any any b-sides onto one compilation.

Savage Clone 05.05.2006 07:03 PM

Loveless has already had a deluxe 180g reissue. It rules.

Пятхъдесят Шест 05.05.2006 07:51 PM

Royal Trux - Cats and Dogs

The audio on this is so poor.

The 97th Hammer 05.05.2006 08:31 PM

Anything that the Desperate Bicycles did.
The Pop Group-Y
Charalambides-Market Square
Skullflower-All of their early material, plus they have enough singles for a compilation.

Onani Nic 05.05.2006 09:49 PM

Stuff that should be reissued because its out of print:

Flipper- Generic Flipper

Electric Eels- anything, i dont know if its still available but i cant find it. Also other Cleveland bands that I would like to hear like Mirrors would be cool.

Index- Index
Someone uploaded it onto the internet and my friend burnt me a copy. Its a great psyche album that was originally released inan edition of 100.

The first few Shellac 7".

sonicl 05.05.2006 11:54 PM

The Dream Syndicate - Medicine Show / This is not the new Dream Syndicate album... live

Loop - everything

HaydenAsche 05.05.2006 11:58 PM

Huh.

Arab on Radar - Yahweh or the Highway
Antioch Arrow - In Love With Jetts/This Lady Is A Cat
Angel Hair - Pregnant With the Senior Class
Cat Power - Moon Pix
the Unicorns - Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?
Neutral Milk Hotel - In the Aeroplane Over the Sea
Wu-tang Clan - 36 Chambers
Public Enemy - Fear of a Black Planet

Dan 05.06.2006 12:00 AM

I want Wowee Zowee on some sweet 180g. Actually, all the Pavement reissues should be on vinyl.

NMTB has already been reissued to death, I don't think the world needs another one.

Everyneurotic 05.06.2006 12:21 AM

the entire flipper and loop catalogs.

i don't think nevermind the bollocks or the first clash albums would sound good in dolby and surround. basically, those records were supposed to sound like shit.

that's like expecting a 5.1 dual disc version of black flag's damaged to sound any good

Signpost 05.06.2006 04:26 AM

Swans - Love Of Life
Coil - Time Machines
NWW - Homotopy To Marie

h8kurdt 05.06.2006 05:37 AM

Ageed with the loop one. Finding an album buy them is as easy as finding a uncorrupt politcian (oooh topical humour)

Sonic Youth-Sonic Deatha and made in the usa

I'll think of some more later darlings.

it would be nice if those old records were louder though. thanks to my mtv generation addled ears, i'm used to music being cranked at mach q levels even on the lowest setting.

other bands i'd like to hear louder recordings from:

-big black
-acid bath
-shellac
-helmet (strap it on, meantime. & betty)

+1

and plus Sonic Youth - Bad Moon Rising

Well, what more...

Slowdive's albums had been reissued in 2005...

i agree, my hearing is more addled by non mtv noise, though. that's a good way of beating your hearing to shreds

don't wait for those standing up. they are just not going to happen

trance feeeedback 05.06.2006 03:20 PM

Acid mothers temple's first album

CHOUT 05.06.2006 03:27 PM

Minutemen - Double Nickels On The Dime. There are 3 songs that were taken off the cd version since they wouldn't fit.

All of the Husker Du catalog.

dazedcola 05.06.2006 04:14 PM

They should reissue Muddy Waters- After The Rain. It's basically the sequel to Electric Mud, but its only on vinyl and hard to find. They should really reissue it on cd. Electric Mud is a crazy ass record that has all these awesome wild distorted guitar leads and has some wah wah thats very similar to hendrix. I hate how people put it down the same way people put dylan down for "selling out" and going electric.

Hip Priest 05.06.2006 06:13 PM

It's time for a nicely-packaged Gaye Bykers on Acid boxset, I think.

Also...

The Jesus and MAry Chain.

Big Audio Dynamite.

Public Enemy.

And Eric B and Rakim's Paid in Full

I'd like to see Smashing Pumpkin's Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness get reissued. Even though all the b-sides were put in a box set which I have read is out of print

Nah, disagree with that one. That album sounds just right for the music it is.

The box set is worth a bit now, I sold mine for $25 and I could have got $40 if I'd gone to the trouble of ebaying it.

so fucking what? they have, you haven't

i rather go deaf from duct-taping my head to my guitar amp while five distortion pedals are running thru than from listening to destiny's child or black eyed peas doing their vocal faux orgasms for a mere five seconds.

but if that's what you like...hey, who am i to argue?. now go wait for the flying suacers or go jump some couch on oprah

No shit? You could really pull 40 bucks or so for it? I still have mine and would gladly rip the cd's and sell it. I haven't even listened to it this century.

defcon4 05.07.2006 10:27 PM

The world needs The Feelies again. Especially me, cause I can't find it on CD anywhere.

RockerNino 05.07.2006 10:45 PM

i would have said loveless and nevermind. and some stuff from the swirlies. theyre so hard to find.

YES!!!! THE SWIRLIES ROCK!!!! BlonderTongueAudioBaton could benefit from a remastering. Oh, and Loveless, but I doubt Shields will ever get up and do it. Fuck Yeah.

DemonBox 05.11.2006 02:51 AM

A good ol' remaster of The Gun Club - Fire Of Love would be nice. With outtakes, live tracks and demos. And I would also like to see a re-issue of the Gun Club - Lucky Jim.

sonicl 06.29.2006 03:11 AM

Girls at our Best - Pleasure
Shop Assistants - Will Anything Happen

On the rare occasions that I've seen these on sale it's been for ridiculous prices.

If you've not already got the Early Warning 2xCD on Sympathy For The Record Industry, you may find that that satisfies your need for Fire of Love demos, etc.

I'm not sure what this'll link to, but when I googled the album title it was one of the results: www.sympathyrecords.com/catalogue/pages2/SFTRI478.html

Ditto. I love my copy so much I'm afraid to take it out and play it. I made a tape the first day I had it and I don't think I've played the actual LP since.

No crap!! I finally found someone to make me a decent CD-R copy of Crazy Rhythms, but I'd love a "real" copy, either on CD or LP (or both!). I recently found The Good Earth and an EP in the used bins (on vinyl--Twin Tone's Coyote label), but I definitely think their whole catalog needs to be reissued. They were an amazing band, and it just floors me that their stuff has been unavailable for years.

That's on my list as well. I have a decent CD-R, but again, nothing like having a nice real pressing or well-packaged CD. I did find Miami on vinyl (blue!) and that's an amazing Lp as well.

I bought a brand-new, sealed 2xLP copy of Double Nickels last month. It's even on the SST label. I had to special order it, and it took about a month to arrive at the store, but it's a perfect copy, complete with those 3 songs that were deleted for the CD.

Ya know, I just picked this one up, too--new CD. I think the poor audio you're talking about is part of the production philosophy--that is, I think it sounds "bad" on purpose, lo-fi, in other words.

Inhuman 06.29.2006 09:27 AM

Be nice if " Dr. Dre Presents...The Aftermath" got rereleased
