Hats

How do you feel about them? Which are your favorite?

I maintain that a woman in a hat is quite sexy - especially a fedora.

If you don a cranial accessory, what kind is it?

fishmonkey 05.08.2006 09:28 AM

i'm my opinion you cant beat a good old fashioned wolly hat, (beanie)
looks good and keeps you nice and warm in the winter months.

Savage Clone 05.08.2006 09:35 AM

Best:
Gnome hats, conical witch hats (Rose McDowell looks awesome in one of those).

Worst:
BERETS.

Personally I prefer this beanie:

candymoan 05.08.2006 09:37 AM

i think hats are great accessories, but i could never bring myself to wear one in public.. (i support a very overgrown mohawk, but when it comes to hats, i'm shy..)

hate baseball caps..

truncated 05.08.2006 09:37 AM

Gnone hats?

Freak.

Hip Priest 05.08.2006 09:38 AM

Some people look great in hats, but they just don't suit me unfortunately. I have a friend who's very dapper though, always with bow tie and hat.

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.08.2006 09:39 AM

I can't ever find hats that fit me. I think I'm size 8 or 8 1/2.

Savage Clone 05.08.2006 09:45 AM

I have rarely found a hat I feel OK wearing. I have one for camping, that's about it.
Not really a "hat guy."

truncated 05.08.2006 09:56 AM

I abhor most hats on chicks. Those cutesy little pink baseball caps, usually with some inane degrading rhinestone tag ("Superstar" and the like). Or floppy beach hats. Vomitous. But bowlers or fedoras....yeahhhhh.

I personally look like a troll if I wear a hat, but I envy those that can pull them off.

candymoan 05.08.2006 09:59 AM

the jazz era hats were cool, but it's not really acceptable to wear them anymore..

come to think of it, rob zombie doesn't look cheesy at all - even when he wears that cheesy hat..
it has to do with style i suppose.. and i don't have any..

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 05.08.2006 10:00 AM

They could.

And so could he:

ploesj 05.08.2006 10:02 AM

i dont wear hats that often.. although i have a few funny ones i never wear in public:

^^ i want that one back :p

Glice 05.08.2006 10:06 AM

Women - Berets, bonnets, top hats

Men - Fedoras, bowlers, flat caps.

Dead souls of either sex - Baseball Caps (Americans exempt from this law, for various reasons).

I personally rarely go to an important social function without either of my trusty fedoras.

Edit: I should add that from age 17-21 I was never seen without a hat of some sort, usually a black or rasberry beret. Yes, it was inspired by the Prince song. No, there's no shame in that.

Savage Clone 05.08.2006 10:07 AM

I make on exception to my beret rule:
RERUN.

candymoan 05.08.2006 10:09 AM

yep.. cool...

I loved SC before.

Now I simply revere him.

EMMAh 05.08.2006 10:44 AM

I used to wear this black hat all the time, but I lost it.

FruitLoop 05.08.2006 10:53 AM

I have this baseball cap I wear sometimes, comes from this insemination center my gf's dad used to work in.

But for men, nothing beats what Jimmy Cliff wears in The Harder they Come, that huge-ass bright yellow beret. Except those rasta knitted caps to hold all the dreadlocks together

I have a nice collection of hats.

I have a leather cowboy hat I bought from a guy in a wheelchair in SD, one of those furry hats with ear warmers, Harvard Cap, Red Sox Cap, australian hat with those corks hanging down, and a black hat I wear all the time to keep my hair out of my face.

I rule.

I do that too or me hair goes up like a bush. So a hat keeps in sort of in control plus it hides me receding hair line.

Go on, destroy the illusion for the rest of us.

h8kurdt 05.08.2006 11:14 AM

What illusion?

truncated 05.08.2006 11:21 AM

You see? This is why I overuse the "Quote and Reply" function.

This is in reference to Diesel's finger-wagging photo, which in fact moreso resembles a cock.

There. You happy?

h8kurdt 05.08.2006 11:23 AM

Nope, i'll never be happy, you've runined my day now.

Really, my heart bleeds for you.

Oh wait, you're sending me a pressie.

h8kurdt, please accept my sincerest apologies for my unwarranted sarcasm and negativity. I did not in any way mean to offend you or taint your otherwise positive countenance. I prostrate before you in hopes of obtaining your forgiveness.

h8kurdt 05.08.2006 11:35 AM

Well I sent it about 1/2hr ago so I take things are back to normal now?

You really are a peach. I tried to rep you, but I have to spread my disease first.

strictlycommercial 05.08.2006 01:50 PM

I'd be tempted to track it down, but I don't really know when I'd get the chance to wear it.
Sigh...

krastian 05.08.2006 03:18 PM

I love my tobaggans.

hey alex 05.08.2006 03:19 PM

i had the ST tobog but I lost it in a dorm. I had for like a week too. Owm.

In the winter i wear tobogs but thaty's about it really.

nomadicfollower 05.08.2006 03:48 PM

Not a hat person at all.
I do, however, enjoy hats with flashing lights. Even noises emitting from the headwear might arouse my interest.

schizophrenicroom 05.08.2006 03:51 PM

i don't like things on my head.

!@#$%! 05.08.2006 04:11 PM

i have a rather big face so i tend to look like ass in hats. i wear caps in winter however-- no, not a hicked out baseball hat-- woolen caps like the 30's new york street thugs (or 70's harlem, ha ha-- no, not that big)

something like these:

unfortunately a few years ago britney spears (?) or some other pop ho made those rather popular among slutty chicks, with the result that i had to keep them off for a while (kinda like watt with his flannel shirts in the 90's, for those familiar with... oh some footage of his). but anyway, things are getting back to normal again.

as for other types of hats, i think the porkpie hat might be a good fit (not me here)
