HAHAH
OH REALLY GOD NOoooo hhha

RockerNino 05.13.2006 03:55 PM

i know ppl who are skeptical about a solo album because it will lose the awesome musical aura, and just feature yorke's whiny voice. im looking foward to it.

atsonicpark 05.13.2006 05:15 PM

I am sure it'll be good.

alyasa 05.14.2006 05:04 AM

Has anyone had the opportunity to listen to this?

FruitLoop 05.14.2006 09:12 AM

Sounds like a case of "download a few songs, then buy it if it's good".

alyasa 05.14.2006 09:48 AM

Is it even released yet? What's it sound like, I wonder?

fuctimwavinmadik 05.14.2006 10:43 AM

no, im skeptical about everysinglething to comeout from thom yorke

LittlePuppetBoy 05.14.2006 06:27 PM

I hope it's like the Radiohead stuff

_slavo_ 05.15.2006 02:10 AM

Hope it's gonna be just Yorke and acoustic guitar, no fucking electronic nonsense.
don't get me wrong, I'm into electronic music big time, but Radiohead just don't know how to use it.

AllHandsOnTheBigOne 05.15.2006 10:38 AM

I'll check it out. See what ol' googlie-eye can come up with.

fishmonkey 05.15.2006 11:06 AM

jesus, i dont know what to say about this, i hope its good. i imagine it to be very basic, i'm hoping he can pull it off without Jonny Greenwood on guitar.
he is a guitar genius

Radiohead don't know how to use electronic music?
Question: Have you heard Idioteque?? Everything in it's Right Place??

How can you say this is not very original sounding electronica?

alyasa 05.15.2006 11:42 AM

It's released on XL records, according to pitchfork. If i'm not mistaken, that's a label that releases quite a lot of electronic music, an indie label. The same pitchfork article has ole' Thommy saying that it's mostly electronic stuff, not much guitar. So that about covers it. But; I wonder; is it gonna be like The Gloaming, packt like sardines in a crushed tin can, rabbit in your headlights.... typical thommy electronics... or what?

saoq 05.15.2006 12:19 PM

idioteque is interesting because of what is sampled. at first i thought they where playing w/ the infamous tristan-chord

Yes I have.
Question: Have you heard any other electronica than Radiohead-ish? anything from labels like Mego, Intr_version, 12k, Charizma or Touch?

noumenal 05.16.2006 03:18 AM

Idioteque actually has some pretty cool metric conflict going on between synthesizer and percussion. As a song that uses elements of electronica, it's great.

And it's cool that they sampled the computer piece by that Princeton fellow, but I'm skeptical about the Tristan chord thing that saoq brought up. I don't really hear it in the sample they used. Hasn't it been transformed beyond recognition? And isn't it only recognizable in context?

Paperhouse 05.16.2006 01:22 PM

i'm not sure if i like the idea of an album arranged by nigel godrich. WHOOOOOOOOOSH!!!!!!!!1111111111111 SHWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!1111 WHOOSHYWHOOWHOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH !!!!111

saoq 05.16.2006 01:51 PM

noumenal> I can't really explain it - i have no real musical background. but i remember that when i first heard idioteque, for some reason i instantly connected it w/ the tristan thing.

but i agree, idioteque is a fine song.
