several cunts have already expressed thousands of opinions regarding "good albums " all over this board. |
hmm.. some of my favorite discs that I listen to often that no one talks about here, because 75% of this board is into awful music... with descriptions!
Toddle - Dawn Praise the World [super amazing hooky college rock; every fucking section is a hook!] Experimental Dental School - Hideous Dance Attack [insane circus noise punk or something; greg from deerhoof drummed on their last album!] Cerberus Shoal - Chaiming the Knobblesome [take all that "freak folk" shit and throw it out the window; this band are the kings] Mong Hang - Family [genre-hopping crazies for people who wanted mr. bungle to be more boredoms like] Gastr Del Sol - Upgrade and Afterlife [indeed, lifechangingly good; none of the songs feel forced at all, just amazing!] Stars of the Lid - Ballasted Orchestra [soul-meltingly beautiful minimalist ambient music; approaches classical music often] June of 44 - Anatomy of Sharks [math rock that's a bit more eclectic] Mac Donald Duck Eclair - Genesis Songbook [japanese electronic pop punk for people who like pop music that isn't overproduced and overly dancy] Sun City Girls - Horse Cock Phepner [their masterpiece of mixing hilarious political insights with unbelievable playing; the most entertaining record of all time?] |
also, if you're looking for something in a particular genre, lemme know, king.
June of 44 is nice as mentioned.
most recent listens: Converge - Jane doe Lightning bolt - hypermagic mountain MF Doom -MM Food Mr. bungle - mr. bungle Silverchair - diorama suicide note - you're not looking so good |
. ooioo Yea..I don't know what else to say..hmm..I personally find it challenging ( i have had too listen to an album 50 times before it kinda. .yea) Gold & Green or Feather Float...everything of theirs is super quality..
Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante
And if you're up for some shameless catchy rock tunes, get Weezer's first two albums. |
OOIOO challenging? Not so much. Green and Gold is my favorite, but I love self-titled too. I used to have a boredoms review site.. http://www.geocities.com/boreviewx ...
I neglected from choosing stuff like Mr. Bungle because that stuff's kind of obvious. I'm listening to Harry Partch - Delusions of the Fury as we speak. Amazing homemade instrument beautiful complex compositions. |
Anyone ever hear The Farting Contest?
An album that I'm liking alot just at the moment is 'Things Past' by George & Caplin
Pick up Doubt Seeds by Bluebottle Kiss. I always push this band/album, because they/it's damn good.
Have you downloaded Jesus Hits Like the Atom Bomb by Tripping Daisy? I really think you and everyone should listen to it. I think you might like it, Buzzo.
Everybody puts me down for the music I like, so I'm not recommending anything.

Have you considered the ragpicker's dream by mark knopfler?
