Just ordered some new shoes (Vans) feel free to insult/complement my tastes...
 

Vans doesn't make these Chukka Boots easily available anymore, back in the early 90's you could find 'em anywhere and I had a couple pairs back then...they've always been my favorite shoe design and they're impossible to find in stores around here (I even went to the fucking mall of america to look for 'em). Found these online.

i wear the old school vans sneaker. the dark blue one with the white stripe.

i got some old school hi tops...they're wearing out.

i want a pair of the low top old school bright green ones too.

I have a problem with sizes when I get shoes. I'm a 12 US, but a UK 13 or something. Which makes it difficult for shoes.

I want some of these non-leather shoes:

when i was vegan, i used to wear non leather shoes like those and converse all stars. i threw all my leather shoes away. to me, the hardest part about being vegan is not wearing leather or suede.

haha no, i'm just a shoe person. i have about 25 pairs of shoes and i only wear like the same 3 or 4.

I feel that Converse and Vans are very poorly made. My New Balance sneakers have lasted me a long while and they still look good. I'm very satisfied.

Comfort and durability are my main concerns.

oh. me too (the 3-4 thing). but i was wondering if vegan shoes "breathe" sufficiently-- fake leather-- yuck.

(also, in case of a fire, i'd want something non-flammable!)

like with ever shoe, yes and no. i never wore a fake leather sneaker, as i wore mostly just canvas shoes like converse or canvas old school vans. my non leather dress shoes "breathe" alright, as i recall. my leather chelsea boots "breathe" like shit and sometimes my feet fall asleep when i drive with them on. to me vegan and non vegan shoes feel the same. it just depends how well they were made.

vans last me awhile, but converse all stars are the worst put together shoe ever. i still wear them, but they hurt my feet if i walk in them too much. they also do fall apart easily. my old school vans, i mentioned earlier, still feel great and i can walk in them all day just fine.

my experiences with fake leather have been of the highly repellent kind. sweaty, if you know what i mean.

Those shoes kick much ass. I love vans, old skools in particular. I have an orange and black pair that are wearing out, so I am going to go to the vans website and build some just like the ones I have now. I am that big a nerd. I have been told I have far too many shoes for a man. Oh well.

i got in warped tour free in 2002, i was friends with a band that was playing a small stage...I met Steve Caballero and got an autographed poster, which was a big highlight for me...I didn't stay all day though.

getting in for free and meeting steve caballero are the only two reasons to go to the warped tour.

They are made by a small Austrian/Czeck company called "Grenzgänger" (engl. "Border Crosser").

I don't know if you can get them somewhere else.

about the insults, CHOUT, do you still want one? im working on them, cant come up with one so far but i could put the extra effort if you MUST have one

they cost quite a lot on the site you took the image from...too bad, coz I like'em.

Yeah, true. They're quite expensive but the good thing is that if they ever fall apart or get holes or anything (which is most likely not to happen since they're built like tanks) the company "repairs" them for free.

I have a pair of Vans (the pretty much classic Vans shoe...)
I'm gonna have to replace them in the spring, which is a huge bumer, because I like everything about them...:(
Maybe I'll just grab another of the same.

The best thing about New Balances is that they make you look like a mongoloid.....it's true, do some field research on it.

Yeah, everybody has those. Well, in socal they do, I don't know about everywhere else though.

But you approve of flares, officially the most tragically forgotten item of clothing since its late 80's-early 90's revival heyday.
