i dont really give too shits about this cheesy sympathy vote award show, buttt, i just tuned in and daniel day lewis won for best actor, being that his is my all time favorite actor and arguably the best actor of our time, i just wana say im stoked he won it again. that is all.

i'm shocked eastern promises first nod was for best actor. but anyway, often the shit wins.

i'm rooting (not in the australian way) for no country for old men for best picture & the coens for directors.

if juno wins best picture i'll have to kill myself

I can't say that I'm surprised the No Country won, but I do think There will be blood is the better film. Still, no one and I mean no one, has got anything on Daniel Day-Lewis. They should give him the Best Actor award every year, just for good measure.

I really think There Will Be Blood blows No Country for Old Men (which is still great) out of the water.

But it is the academy awards, and I never take those too seriously so I'm not too pissed.

Was watching with my mother, during the best song catagory we went if any of the three songs from "Enchanment" wins over the one song from "Once", might as well call it a night. "No Country For Old Men" was the only one of the movies that I've seen, so its the only one I could root for. "There Will Be Blood" is probobly good/great, but is it great because of Daniel Day Lewis? There for, the best thing about the film was recognized.

I thought There Will Be Blood was better than No Country For Old Men. Although both were awesome, There Will Be Blood was Kubrick good.

i suppose i should go see these films then, if they're winning oscars and you all seem to have a high opinion of them? i don't go to see movies very often.

2007 was a great year for movies. There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, Eastern Promises. Juno was good too, but I feel odd lumping it in with those movies.

I prefered There Will Be Blood to No Country, both were good, but I though There Will Be Blood had more depth, but was perhaps a bit too off beat for the Oscars. PT Anderson needs an Oscar. Coen bros. have had their share.

No Country For Old Men has the scariest movie villain ever. Makes Hannibal Lecter look like a puppy.

i'm aware that it's not a comedy and lebowski is. what i'm saying is that they can't outdo themselves.

I honestly didn't find Bardem that scary. He just walked about and killed people.

That is what was scary.

I was on the edge of my seat when he went into the trailer.

I just don't see it. I was honestly more frightened when Day-Lewis bitch slapped Paul Dano.

not all of them are necessarily "better" than lebowski but ayayay they are such a trail of genius.

even that cockbags movie, the ladykillers, had its moments, but basically it suffers from a case of the tom hanks (yuck)

i stayed up till 6am so i caught it all.
i'm happy bardem won - he's one of my favourite actors of all time, especially in films like Before Night Falls.
