Boris in NYC Tuesday
Anyone going to this one?
So you mean, am I going to drive a thousand miles up to NYC from SC to see Boris? Hell, I can barely make it 20 miles to the nearest Starbucks.

Maybe you should! |
Help with the gas, and I'll meet you there!

I'll siphon as much gas as you need! |
I'ma be there.
i might be there, but it might be the same night as xanadu.
i'd love to, but this whole louisiana thing is really getting in the way. have you heard any of "smile?" it's really good.
unless the boris show is early, i'm going to be seeing xanadu and boris in the same night!
Yeah. I won't be there.
yeeeeessss.
I didn't really like them when I saw them at the Knitting Factory. I bought tix for The Slits tomorrow.
here's tonight's setlist already for those of you who don't like surprises.

fuuuuuuuuuuck! growing are opening, too. if anyone buys me a plane ticket, i could still make it!
This fucking show was sold fucking out. Fuck!
In the downstairs space, Jennifer Herrema (ex Royal Trux) was playing with her current band, RTX. I saw that for a while, but it sounded like early Metallica meets Guns and Roses. |
good show.
i like rtx.
but yeah, i can't make it to any boris shows currently. |

I hate you. |
don't hate. appreciate.

God is made up of three people. So is Boris. Coincidence?
Absolutely mindblowing. |

I got in without one. Went up to see my bro and we just walked in all casual like. I think it helped to be slightly drunk (but not too much) because then people just seemed to want to leave us alone. It was a fair to good show.

I tried to get into the bar, and the guy asked to see my ticket. I guess after a certain time he probably stops checking. Good to know for next time! |
Ha, the guy looked at us like what do you old washed-up hipsters think you're doing, then looked the other way and we walked right in. I guess he didn't want to bother checking our AARP cards for a discount.
i have been in the same building as you at the same time?
oh my lord. |
Yeah, freaky. And there were two of us. Sort of. From the same gene pool anyway. Me and a version of me 10 years earlier, more hair essentially. My brother even gets into the same kind of music as me 10 years after I do. It's weird. I thought at least this way we might be in synch on at least one band at the same time. He wasn't as blown away by them as I was.
If I told you what we were wearing, maybe you'd remember how memorable we were. I was in my gray Oleg Cassini sport coat, AE slim jeans, brown suede shoes and a blue silk shirt. Brian was wearing an old brown leather jacket, an embarrassing Beatles Let It Be T-shirt, and some Nike shoes. You got the cool brother (me) and the uncool one. What can I say. |
nope. didn't see any old dudes walking around.
Must be cuz we don't look old! At least in the right light.
must be.
I'm still recovering though. I had to get up early Wed, drive my brother to the airport, then drive all the way back. Woke up this morning with a terrific sinus headache. I'm taking it easy, work can wait. A little Spacemen 3 is helping.
i've taken another week off work for medical purposes
i can't bear another week laying about in bed though |
When I'm sick, I camp out in front of the TV or stereo.
i've got a television in there although i don't ever actually watch TV. i have to get out of here.
okay, how bout someone tell me about how great growing was. kthnx.
I'm not a Growing fan, so I don't have a basis for comparison. Okay, I guess.
i'll kill you. everyone loves growing.
well i'm glad i didn't go to the knitting factory that night. it sucks i missed them though. but i did see XANADU that night!
