I am Rod Hull. I am him.
Eggs-ellent, like the egg of a bird. Weak-lemon drink. Anyone in favour of oblique references to British comedy apply here. And clear some space in your mailbox doll-face. |
I wasn't necessarily going to read this...
What if I had been considering the lily? AAAAaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh |
No Jesus, not 'ahh'.

Curious orange.
Never has the Fall been so well appropriated by a cult comedy programme with such shamefully and undeservedly low ratings |
i wholeheartedly recommend going to see stewart lee live, i've never seen herring though
|
This hurt me with laughing.
|
Oh ditto, just as much the 20th time as the first.

Anyone watch the new Stewart Lee show on BBC 2? I liked. Also found this old article from The Guardian a good read, Stewart on German comedy: http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2006...any.features11
|
i watched it, it made me laugh out loud

that first one is kind of reminiscent of the jurgen harbemeister stuff from boosh season 3. the british truly are the kings of comedy. although i do think australians have an affinity with the comedy of the brits. neither country's comedy has ever really worked when american networks have either bought the shows or remade them... |

It was odd, i never saw Richard Not Judy when it was on so seeing him on TV was strange, especially as he was doing stand-up. I like it when he starts repeating himself like an old lady whilst trying to explain something, I think he did that when i saw him. I didnt really take to it, but once i get used to the confusion i'm sure i will feel immese content. |
Daniel Kitson is the only comedian I can genuinely laugh out loud to right now.

he's the one who was in psychiatric care or something isnt he? |
I'm not sure about the psychiatric thing, though maybe. I know he has quite a bad stutter that sometimes comes out during his stand up. He's meant to be a real dick as a person but, even though he had a small part in Phoenix Nights, he completely hates Peter Kay (so he's obviously not completely off his rocker.)
Didn't Stewart Lee say something along the lines of wanting to give up comedy after seeing Kitson for the first time? I've seen him live a few times. He's very hit and miss, but when he's good he's genuinely on another level. Anyway, here are some of his podcasts if anyone's interested: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=6ZMNNSS7 Plus, full stand up at the Cardiff Glee club. http://www.megaupload.com/?d=FJ8KB8QQ |
