Recommend me albums or songs that make good use of the melodica

I expect loads of good dub and reggae that I might not know already, but anything goes. Thanks.

I can only think of things I imagine you know - Clinic, Augustus Pablo, Oliveros. Fairly rubbish instrument unless used well, unfortunately. I'd be interested in hearing something outside of Dub as well, as it happens.

'5.15' by the Gang Of Four (from 'Entertainment') is worth a listen.

my uncle is in a semi dub/art rock/electronic band which uses melodica's quite a bit. too bad they havent got anything with melodicas on their myspace.

at the drive-in - enfilade (i think it's that one).

i used to have one, teached me that at school, i used to do a lot of improve that sounded like grade school interpretations of "sister ray", i never quite liked it so i traded it for mortal kombat III on snes.

atsonicpark 03.30.2008 11:52 PM

Pretty sure it was used on beefheart's "sue egypt"...

Agustus Pablo is THEE Melodica player, it is not only his trademarked sound, but I promise that NOBODY plays it better or more originally, period. ANYTHING with his name on it will have this instrument. Check out the

MEETS KING TUBBY ALBUM

or the Jacob Miller album

I have to admit, I'm stumped. I seriously can't think of a single one.

What? Not even The Rolling Stones?

Florya 03.31.2008 08:06 AM
