Fuck. trying to get radiohead tickets is always a pain..
sega lai igziabeher! [by the grace of god!]...
|
why?

Not worth the effort. Radiohead tickets are always expensive and the show is always crowded.
|
Quote:
oh?? well maybe it's a sign that they are in fact shite and you should spend your money on something else??? Just a theory. |
Strong words from a Mars Volta fan :D
|
Quote:
I bought Mars Volta tickets this morning, took me 2 minutes. |
No I wasn't talking about the point that it took a certain time to buy Mars Volta ticket, I was talking about you said Radiohead are shit. imo Mars Volta sucks much more than Radiohead
|
Quote:
yeah, i got that. All i was saying is that maybe the universe is trying to tell him something, and by those same rules the universe has made it very easy for me to get Mars Volta tickets. and they don't suck, you suck, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha :p |
I always thought that's Carl Cox, the Techno producer, on your Mars Volta picture on the far right, screamingskull. And I was like, what the hell is HE doing there?

I hear ya, SuchFriendsetc... It's why I long ago gave up trying to go to big gigs. I prefer small venues, regional good bands, where there's room to walk around and even sidle up to a bar now and then. Big concerts are, well, too big... too many people, too expensive, too hard to get into, and generally, too hyped. Not fun. I'd rather spend the money on the albums. At least that way you have something more lasting, and for far less coin.
|
let me see if I got this right....you are PAYING MONEY to watch radiohead perform IN RAINBOWS??
oh, the humanity. |

I like the universe, I've asked it to give me an answer that will finally clear all the speculation about who's more terrible between The Mars Volta and Radiohead and this is the answer that I got in return: ''Oh man, they're both shite''.:) |
Quote:
i have no idea who Carl Cox is?? It's Jeremy Ward, De Facto/The Mars Volta member/founder. Cousin to Jim Ward of At The Drive-In/Sparta. ![]() he passed away in 2003. RIP. |

so that black dude and that white dude are cousins? holy different strokes, batman. |
its like the damned beatles had rose from the dead or some shit, fucking bastards, it sold out, and I had been trying all fucking morning just to get the damned website to load up, stupid crowed server. well, I take my chances at the ticket master box office on saturday, and if not, then radiohead can just well and truly fuck off, though my sister will be massively dissappointed if so, it is supposed to be her present for graduation....
I never get these tickets, every fucking year same ol nonsense, it is becoming clear to be that it is not the Will of God that I attend such a show, for I began this very thread and every breath of my life in giving God the glory and all the praise, in saying by the grace of God, hence if it is not a success, it is not in God's grace, and eternity is more fullfilling then radiohead anyways, after all, most of you seem to think them terrible to begin with, though I cant for the life of me figure that one out... |
Quote:
ha ha, No, this was Jeremy Ward ![]() This is Jim Ward, his cousin ![]() Jim was in At The Drive-In with Cedric and Omar. Jeremy was in De Facto and The Mars Volta with Cedric and Omar. |
Quote:
![]() Maybe I need new glasses, Rosie, but the guy on the far right looks nothing like Jeremy Ward ;) . |

As much as one can be a fan of any band, it is so not worth getting upset about missing them live. I've learned that the actual experience of seeing a band live vastly pales in comparison to seeing or hearing a recording of that live performance. I learned this lesson about the Stones in the 70s. For one thing, I could never get close enough to the stage to make out the band as any more than miniature stick figures. Two, the sound usually sucked because of the acoustics of the place. But then a recording, even a bootleg recording, of the same performance would sound tons better--often because it was run through the sound board. Same goes with actually seeing the band. Photos in the magazines captured the drama or whatever much better than the eye. I think it's great that bands tour, but as I said, unless they're playing a small and very accessible place, I prefer to experence their tours vicariously. |

I had many wonderful live concert experiences, with good sound, near the stage and so on. Especially with sy and radiohead, this applies also for quite big open air gigs... not the biggest stadiums or anything THAT big, anyways... |

you are only partially correct. for a show like the Hollywood bowl, which is 18,000-20,000 capacity, the energy is beyond electric, it is uncomparable in Los Angeles, there is no other shows like huge Bowl shows here in town. further, you look silly dancing by yourself in yr bedroom, and even at radiohead, I-man is no wallflower... shit I danced to every song at the sonic youth Arthurfest show and looked like a complete fool, but had the time of my life. I had a straight religious experience and an Epiphany of high magnitude at Sonic Youth at the Troubadour in 2004, a show which I camped out on the street in Hollywood to get tickted for.. plus, I have been trying to get tickets for radiohead for 8 years now, and so it sort of like, a serious thing on my To Do List, that I would sort of like to achieve. Of course I already said, God's will be done, and I am not necessarily upset as much as anxious or dissappointed. However, hope is not lost, I can still try on Saturday. |

Ha ha. Why would you feel sorry for me for not doing what I don't like to do? I hate crowds, and I generally hate the concert experience. We're all suppose to experience this big Woodstockian communal joy at big concerts or something? That is so bogus. Don't get me wrong. I love live music. I love live bands in small club settings but beyond that, fuck it, I say. You shouldn't feel sorry for me just because I don't share your interest in this. *scratching head* |
