I've seen them opening for SY : people were paying as much attention as if it was a jukebox.

i didn't know people still said Cheerio, i think its a southern thing. |

well thats their loss, ignorant fools! |
stereolab is awesome.

what??? when and where??? that sounds like an amazing show! |
well i know they opened for sy at the atp they curated, first time i ever really heard stereolab and i've been in love since!
|
Ohhh! Added to the Pitchfork Festival? I hope!
|
my brother and i were planning on taking the road trip to chicago to go to the pitchfork festival. the lineup so far looks about 40/60, as in 40 percent bands that i dig, 60 percent bands that i dont like. but the tickets are fairly priced, i love chicago, and public enemy doin ...it takes a nation of millions and burma doin vs. is enough right there to my get off the couch.

Are you being sarcastic ? It's hard to guess via internet. Well : Paris , 96. And there was Beck too. Yes , THE Beck. BECK!! |
they opened some 2000 shows for the yoof too
|
Prague, for example.
|
best gig i was ever at.... the idiots (see the rare uploads thread for album)
tortoise and stereolab in the olympia in dublin around 1996.. amazing gig! |
stereolab <3
|
i hope it's good. i really want them to release something like dots & loops again. i'm not totally in love w/ that cover either.
|
I've pretty much liked everything this band has done, but I love their early shit.
|
yes! new lab! means touring lab! means more lab gigs! summer is coming!!!!!

It is, yeah. |
this album is one im really looking forward to.... release date is coming upin augaust... bring it on...
sorry, felt like bumping to create a lab fever.... |
the last album was ok, but far from their best stuff, i'm curious to see what the new one is like
|
i've liked everything they've ever done personally though I don't listen to it much.

I'd love a mixture of said album and "Cobra and Phases Group Play Voltage in the Milky Night". Beautiful stuff. |
The BBC Radio One Sessions compilation is very, very good too. I have been listening to that a lot recently.
|

ditto, especially disc 1 |
The versions of 'Doubt', 'John Cage Bubblegum' and 'Super-Electric' are particularly good on that one.
|
yeah, doubt has been getting a lot of rewinds lately. peng 33 is another great track on there.
|
Peng the album is a good one. Two tracks off it that I play a lot are 'K-Stars' and 'Super Falling Star'. It's not like any other album by Stereolab, in a way. It's not even their best. Laetitia Sadier makes a cool vocal appearance on The Hair and Skin Trading Co.'s song 'Go Round' on the album 'Over Valence'.
|
finest stereolab record..
possibly the album transient random noise bursts coupled with the jenny ondioline e.p. |
agreed.
|
i mean its got "crest" on it.. possibly the most fun you can have with one chord ever...
i saw them in 1995 with tortoise in dublin.. that was fucking special...... |
i have to say that yeah, i do enjoy everything i've heard from them.

I love this band because they made me discover so much other good music, like the ethiopiques compilations, for instance. They also gave Broadcast their first break, which is a fine thing in my book.
Talking of Broadcast, does anyone want the Peel Sessions? They do a mean version of 'Pendulum' on them. All of them are goodness, though. |
i would accept it porky, i haven't listened to broadcast in a long time.
|
Coolio. I'll up it then.
|
fuckin' a.
|
Great Been Hanging Out For Different Broadcast To Hear For A While Now!
