Your Favourite Fictional Bear?
You're never too old, as they say, so don't try playing it all hard and indiecool in this thread! After the 'cheese' poll, the obvious next topic was 'fictional bears'. Tell us your favourite, and how much you like them... Culled from literature, theatre and television. And this time I'll say at the start - you only get ten poll options, max. So I had to choose. |
So where are the poll options?
|
Above you. I've voted!
|
At first I though this was for fictional beers, and the only one I could think of voting for was Duff.
But if it's bears... Well, it's got to be baloo, you can't beat a singing bear, can you? If my teddy bears sang to me I'm sure I'd sleep a whole lot better. |
Fozzie Bear from the Muppets!
Glaring oversight. |
Volcano The Bear

Goah, your right. I'd have subbed Fozzie for Baby Bear if I'd thought of that. Glaring is the word. :( |
wow cool i didn't know you could make polls like this
|
I'll have to vote for Snuggles, for good characterization. That bear scared the piss out of me.
|
haha
that´s a nice poll |
paddingtom might have just swung it but i am afraid that i have dissed some of my childhood. marmalade sandwiches all round though in deepest darkest peru and etc...
|
![]() One of my great influences, jonboy - the bear from Darkest Peru. |
One of the best threads I've seen on the new board! Nice one Hip. I'm going with Winnie, partially because I was named after that show. The books actually weren't half bad.
|
Yogi, it has to be Yogi, when i was young i found a little teddy bear on the street and i took him hime and named him Boo Boo, we had years of fun with me been Yogi and my new friend Boo Boo...
Turns out years after on one of my best mates name is . .. . . . . . . . . Boo (and yes he is human) |
I voted for Paddington. I don't think Rupert counts as, surely, he lives in a very real way in all of our hearts.
|
i loved paddington
|
I chose pooh-bear. Paddington is cool and all, and so is Rupert, but the original winnie the pooh movie was great.
|
No Berenstain Bears or Smokey the Bear? Ha. I still would vote for Yogi. Hey a' Boo Boo?!?
|
Damn, some good choices there. As a huge Tailspin fan and The Jungle Book as well, I went with with good 'ol Baloo.
|
I keep misreading the title of this thread. I think I will start another thread to illustrate my trouble.
|
When we were on acid we would go into the woods; because when you were in the woods trippin' there was less likely a chance you'd run into an authority figure ... but we ran into a bear; that was even more of a buzz-kill. My friend Duayne was standing there raising his right hand swearing to help prevent forest fires. We got away from the bear, he put his arm around my shoulder and said to me "Mitchell, Smokey is way more intense in person"

You're such a cool bunch - dear old Padders is winning!
Yr hard-assed voting inspired me to do another scan of the ever-helpful bear: ![]() Oops! He does try hard though. |
Are you kidding me?
Baloo all the way. |
we are not fictional but....
SPIRIT BEARS!!!!!!!! |

Yeah, Mitch rules(d). |
My Favourite is the baby bear in the movie 'The Bear'.
The scene where he eats the fly agaric and trips out is cool! |
Bobo, Burns' bear.

Film? FILM? Don't mention that putrid Disney turd. Winnie The Pooh is a book you ignorant twat! |
![]() This was a polish animation from the late 70's they showed here in this children show during my childhood. I don't know its name in english though... So how about your winnie the pooh and that motherfucker paddington and every other imperialistic scum get the fuck out of here! Maybe crappydrummer can help me with this one? |
THE PICKUP BEAR- from taht deerhoof song!
|
anyone remember the green jelly bear mountian song?
|
Rupert Bear was always too much of a goody-goody for me, he'd never be the type to get into any mischevious scrapes. A bit of a teacher's pet. And I didn't like the stories all being in rhyme.

Quote:
Wow, so did I, haha. Anyway, I voted for Yogi Bear. |

Aw. The golden age of Hip Priest's poll-based threads. Not as good as his cheese thread, but great nonetheless.
