im shocked at how insane sensitive/lethal is. its my fave for sure. i generally like pop song thurston better than noise thurston, like "trees...", but this one is a mega exception.

I'd advise you to hunt down the vinyl side "Mature, Lonely and Out of Control" for more next level power electronics intensity shit.

Still have not been able to track down Hurricane Floyd.

I am a big fan of original silence although I like pretty much all of his more experimental stuff (Tree's I would not class as experimental) but my other favourite is Bark Haze.

i just really like his vocals and lyrics. i mean, the guy could be a singer songwriter if he wanted. i usually like sonic youth the best when the straddle the lines between pop and the avant garde (silver sessions being the mega exception there), yknow, evol-daydreamnation.

interesting to see where the cover artwork for "Trees" comes from...

Not a solo release per se, but I love the LP he did with Borbetomagus, "Barefoot In The Head" - a real racket workout, with some fine Thurston splurge-wah guitar moves:

As far as his freejazz/noise releases go, I'm quite partial to HURRICANE FLOYD. I also think that FUCK SHIT UP is really good, too. But HURRICANE is definitely my favorite.

LIVE AT EASTHAMTPON TOWN HALL w/ Nels Cline, Zeena Parkins is pretty good, too.
