I just saw Ringo Starr and his all Starr band and...

...I just wanted to say that Edgar Winter kicks some serious fucking ass!!!

Danny Himself 06.25.2008 09:36 AM

What the fuck, Edgar Winter is playing with Ringo Starr? He's sunk pretty low since Frankenstein hasn't he..?

mangajunky 06.25.2008 09:38 AM

The band this year was awesome - Edgar Winter, Colin Hay (from Men at Work), Billy Squire, Gary Wright, Greg Bissonette, and one of the guys from the Average White Band.

Sunk low? With that lineup I wouldn't call it sinking low.

Those poor, talented men have been misled into the realm of Ringo Starr's retarded belief in himself.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 09:59 AM

ringo RULES ALL

stiop putting the man down. he is still a down to earth, honest, un-jaded person, and he has done nothing but try to enjoy his life without fucking up others.

Billy Squire was way cooler than he was in this video:

He performed three of his solo songs. His guitar solos in other songs were really great too.

How is he down to earth? How is he honest?

He recently brought out an album called 'Liverpool 8', in which he sucked the dick of the Liverpool Mayor now that a large influx of money has come into the city again. Funny, for years he has been putting this city and it's people down in interviews, but now suddenly there's a quick buck to be made he's right back here again.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 10:24 AM

what's wrong with him putting liverpool down? he grew up there, he can say what he wants right?
as can you.
as far as his albums go, they fucking suck shit. no doubt about that, but fuck it, he is a 67 year old man.

That 100% looks like a corpse with a keytar.

StevOK 06.25.2008 12:10 PM

I saw Ringo's all Starr Band a few years ago, and they were excellent.

gmku 06.25.2008 12:28 PM

Ha ha. Ringo! Ha ha ha ha ha.

DeadDiscoDildo 06.25.2008 01:00 PM

If he was good enough to be in John Lennon's band, he's better than you. He is also my second favorite drummer, next to steve shelley. He just kept it simple and interesting.

gmku 06.25.2008 01:02 PM

Okay, but still, Ringo... hahahahaha...

✌➬ 06.25.2008 01:07 PM

This is the guy I always forget when mentioning the beatles. Oh wait, it's John, Ringo, Paul, and who else?

gmku 06.25.2008 01:08 PM

The quiet one. George.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 01:09 PM

and of course there is (F)aul

✌➬ 06.25.2008 01:10 PM

All I know is we are going to be left with one Beatle, I wonder who?

gmku 06.25.2008 01:13 PM

Given that the two best ones already "left," I don't much care. Ringo is just silly, and Paul is just, well, silly and arrogant.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 01:18 PM

ringo is silly, but he has always ben silly, and praise must be due to a man for maintaining his inner core so well! ha!

All I know is Paul better go first.

edit- Sorry but I just feel he was only good with the Beatles.

gmku 06.25.2008 01:22 PM

Yeah, I'm not a huge Paul fan. I'm not even sure he was all that great with the Beatles, but that's a whole other can of worms.

Yes, he can say what he wants, if that's honesty, but honesty is NOT going back on your word to suck corporate dick.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 01:38 PM

ringo is a bit of a twat. paul is a bigger twat than all of them combined.

but unlike people claim, he's a solid drumer. they never had to redo a take because he fucked up.

george and john were the talented ones though.

gmku 06.25.2008 01:40 PM

He's a talented enough drummer, but that's about it.

I am confused,
what "word" did he give?"

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 01:46 PM

I Want You (She's So Heavy) is such a fucking great song. I am learning it on the bass.

what gets me about the beatles music, is that, when trying to learn it, the most difficult parts are all Paul's! He plays all over that fucking bass, in very intricate and weird ways, and I think this comes from him being a piano and guitar player first and only getting on the bass cuz it was necessary.

i think you're relatively correct there because i started off on the guitar/piano etc and then i got a bass and people have said it's hard to keep up with me. bass is the only instrument i can really play worth a shit.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 01:50 PM

I played cello for 8 years so picking up the bass is relatively easy, and I am glad I still have this backlog of sonic memory and music theory and just a musical familiarity with the low end.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 01:55 PM

i had a friend who played cello and i picked his cello up and damn they are heavy. props to you for that as well because that seems like it'd be a difficult instrument to play.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 02:06 PM

if you will western union me around $4500 I could buy a good cello.
How about it?

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 02:12 PM

well it is for a good cause.

RanaldoNecro 06.25.2008 02:13 PM

Ringo

Props to Ringo for still performing and I actually like his drumming. Very similar honest and sparse to Shelley's IMHO.

But when he goes TV and talks about "LOVE" is kinda silly considering he's a gigantic millionare and all that. "LOVE" is great but so is opportunity and a bit of financial reward, a nice house etc.

Preaching "LOVE" is one thing, acting is a completely diff....

RanaldoNecro 06.25.2008 02:20 PM

Paul is just, well, silly and arrogant.

Thats not true at all. Not only is he one of the greatest composers of all time but also a truly wonderful human being.

Not like you a so-an-so miserable Sod.

clearly you've overlooked such wonderful compositions by wings as "silly love song" and "someone's knocking at the door"

DeadDiscoDildo 06.25.2008 02:43 PM

Wings sucked, true. But chalk that up for Linda and Paul becoming whipped in love. He was a cool cat before but you always knew he was going to get whipped like that, just look at his lyrics.

Everyone knows John was the master songwriter anyways, as far as introspective lyrics go. Noone should expect lyrical genius out of paul, but Paul was the master music machine.

DeadDiscoDildo 06.25.2008 02:43 PM

Oh, and my favorite beatles tune is probably one of the anthology tracks, Real Love. I can't remember if it was a Lennon/McCartney joint or if it was just lennon's beast, but what a great song.

Rob Instigator 06.25.2008 02:47 PM

yes, a master music machine, with an ear for sweet swet melody.

mind games is one of the best albums ever.

DeadDiscoDildo 06.25.2008 03:20 PM

^^yes.

I'd say my two biggest musical heroes are John and Kurt.

Cantankerous 06.25.2008 03:23 PM

my hero is captain sensible
