I think that weird reason is that he's an absolute dork who rode on the coattails of having been in Rainbow and Sabbath 2.0 to put out the most hackneyed solo records imaginable. Actually, I've known quite a few indie kids to claim to be into him the same lameass ironic way they claim to be into rubbish like Boston and Poison. I think Dio's worth to society was made perfectly clear when he penned the Hear 'N Aid "metal" benefit for Africa song "Stars". I'm sure it must have raised at least $1.82.

Fair enough. I wasn't aware of the ironic fanbase they'd acquired. Anyway, I was thinking of Holy Diver, which would be a pretty obvious choice for any so-called fan of mid-period Sabbath I would've thought.
