Favourite David Bowie single?

Seeing as we've been talking about D Bowie's albums, I thought I'd steal a couple of riffs from Cantankster and put up a singles poll. Can only fit on 10, so I've gone for the most memorable ones.

So what say you? Tell us what you think.....now!

Dr. Eugene Felikson 07.11.2008 08:17 AM

Life On Mars? With Space Oddity being an extremely close second.

chicka 07.11.2008 08:25 AM

Jeanie Genie from the list but wondering why Panic in Detroit didn't make the list....

just showin' my age I guess...:)

Toilet & Bowels 07.11.2008 08:43 AM

i find most david bowie songs indistinguishable. young americans.

mangajunky 07.11.2008 08:58 AM

I put Heroes but it's tough for me to pick a fave Bowie song.
Also in my fave singles list for me would be Breaking Glass, and Look Back in Anger. GOD I LOVE Look Back in Anger.

noisereductions 07.11.2008 08:59 AM

"Ziggy Stardust" was less memorable than "Boys Keep Swinging?" Really?

My vote's for the Aphex Twin remix of "Heroes." ha.

MellySingsDoom 07.11.2008 09:01 AM

Re the list: It's an entirely subjective choice from me, and it's true that these singles only cover the 70's - no "Ashes To Ashes" and "Fashion" for example...

terriblecanyons 07.11.2008 09:25 AM

I love BKS especially the video but LOM is my favorite <3

after editing this post 10000 times i finally got rid of all the typos

MellySingsDoom 07.11.2008 09:48 AM

noisereductions - According to my knowledge, "Ziggy Stardust" was never actually released as a single. Surprising, non? Having said that, I remember hearing "Space Oddity", "Life On Mars" and "Changes" a lot when I was growing up as a kiddy in the 70's (from my parent's record collections and on the radio), but not "Ziggy" that often. Perhaps a "Bowie non-singles that should've been singles" poll needs to happen?

I have to go for 'Life On Mars' - It's what brought me and my lovely lady wife together 30 odd years ago.

In more recent times 'Little Wonder' struck a chord.

"Little Wonder" was amazing. As was "I'm Deranged."

MellySingsDoom 07.11.2008 11:00 AM

+1 for "I'm Deranged" - I first heard it in Lynch's "Lost Highway".

noisereductions 07.11.2008 11:19 AM

Trent did a good job of assembling that sndtrk. That Pumpkins song kills me. Seriously.

Dead-Air 07.11.2008 11:37 AM

From those choices "Life on Mars" with "Starman" very close behind.

lechaoscestmoi 07.11.2008 11:48 AM

this is ground control to major tom

and "Little Drummer Boy" with Bing is... well... classic?

acousticrock87 07.11.2008 01:57 PM

Starman. If I ever listen to the CD, it's usually just for that song.

TheMadcapLaughs 07.11.2008 03:00 PM

its not an option on the poll, but I love SOUND AND VISION; "BLUE BLUE ELECTRIC BLUE..."

EyeballGrowth 07.11.2008 04:33 PM

That's easy Starman. Nothing can beat that tune, cept maybe Ziggy Stardust or Moonage Daydream

EyeballGrowth 07.11.2008 04:34 PM

I really love the Diamond Dogs album. One of my favorite concept albums ever. They should have finished the movie. I wanna see Hunger City and Poachers Hill
