hot sauce and/or salsa
what are you favorites?
i eat it with everything. no joke. |
Tapatio.
|
Me too!!
I'd have to go with hot sauce if I had to pick one or the other because it goes with more things. Salsa is my second favorite food though. |
salsa, anything but green.
|
Mmm, spicy hot salsa with peri-peri chicken *drools*
|
I can't stand salsa. I love the sauce part, and carefully dipping chips in the sauce, but the texture of the tomatos and onion and whatever is in there is disgusting. It makes it all a hassle.
|
I love salsa, not so much on the hot sauce though.
|
My favorite hot sauce is classic Frank's and my favorite non-homemade/fresh salsa is Chi Chi's Hot.
Chi Chi's makes the best "over the counter" salsa because it's not pasty like a lot of the others. |
i'm crrazzzzy about either, but hate cilantro.. sorry kegmama.
what are your fave brands though? |

frank's is good. did you used to have chi chi restaurants where you are from? we had them here. hell on the red is good if you don't like pasty. it just seems pretty fresh. |
Tapatio! More important than water.

i'm not familiar with it. it's a hot sauce and not salsa? i'll look for it. |

I've never had or even seen Hell on the Red hot sauce before, but if I do, I'll def. check it out. PS - My mouth is watering thinking of all this hot stuff. |
It's Mexican hot sauce. Dirt cheap and very pleasant tasting. None of that nasty tabasco pepper flavor.

i eat hot sauce with everything. usually tabasco cause you cant get much variety here. sometimes i get red devil cause it tastes better, but its not spoicy.
i love israeli charif (translattion: spicy) which is hot peppers with lemon and coriander and stuff like that. i love it in my falafel and on my hummus. i think ive lost some taste buds due to all of the spicy food that i eat http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skhug |
I'm not huge on the Tabasco flavor either.....I'll def. use it if that's all there is though.
Frank's is way better. |
i actually like tabasco... especially the green tabasco. although i'll eat a bottle of it on anything. it's very vinegar-y tasting. and i looooovvvve vinegar.

Also, I'm white. Cholula is better, but not worth the price difference. And my roomate goes through it in a day. |
I like using mucho tabasco when making a chilli con carne - that and good, fresh chillis gives it a real good kick.
|
i do love me some cholula. but... it's vinegarish.

i need to send you a messican care package. |
I'm partial to vinegar stuff. Italian >>>>>> Ranch, always.

Now that I do like the sound of. Proper Mexican food here is v rare. |
How sad. In LA it's easier to find than American food.
|
I'll have to try the green label Tobasco....never had it.
|
olives in tabasco sauce make me want run out the house and hug strangers
|
Beef barbecued after a tasbasco-heavy marinade makes me want to play table tennis whilst listening to The Birthday Party.

do you mind if i do then? it won't happen tomorrow, but i'll start collecting. oh krastian... get the green sauce. i mean it. kegmama... yes... ranch aka sorority sauce ... is delicious with pizza. and nearly everything, BUT! it has far more calories than hot sauce. |
Cool, I'll pick up a bottle.
|
well, hmm i don't know. i'll use anything as long as it gets my penis up and going.

the home ec teacher in high school told me it was 17 cals a teaspoon or tablespoon... i can't remember... either way... stick with the goo... it's far less fattening! |
i just looked it up. 5-7 cals in a teaspoon.
|
"But teacher, how come it tastes so salty?!"
|
Quote:
odd... because it's made mostly of sugar! |
Like...using it as lotion, or...?

KEEP YR FILTHY POSTS OFF OF HER! |
this thread inspired me to go out and sample some nice salsas and hot sauces at La Hacienda, a nice mexican place in ocean city, and blew a good 47 on drinks and shrimp burrito which took a little long, but the bartender ws very nice (and cute if i must say), which is why i guess i gave him a $10 tip
to the topic at hand, i am a recent fan of cholula, it has very dill like flavor if i recall, which ws very different, i also like tabasco's habanero sauce which has a very sweet mango touch before the heat hits you |
i just got home and ate a triscuit with cajun deli roast beef and a dab of sriracha on it, so I felt I had to reply.
|
super hot chunky salsa.
and tabasco on my fried chicken |
