I've only ever heard one song by the Ryes - something with a girl's name in the title - but I was convinced throughout that I was listening to Pulp.

Distorted Pony sounds like Shellac , especially the drum.

Well, I meant their first ep, sounds identical to Big Black, same drum machine and all.

Their later stuff sounds more Rapemany I guess.

Flogging Molly and the Dropkick Murphys. THE SAME.

with the only exception that A place to bury strangers have a bit more skronk. But the melodies are basically the same.

Bayside and Alkaline Trio have the same voice.

Not to defend the band in any way, but you can do that with a lot of popular music. They even slowed down the left one.

Primal Scream circa "Sonic Flower Groove" and The Stone Roses circa their first LP.
