to see if a person was drinking the day before?
I've never heard of such a thing, and I've been threatened.

all I know is that non drinkers can smell yesterday's drinks on the bvreath and sweat and skin of a drinker. and it is not pleasant

Depends how early, I guess. I mean you can get up at noon and still be drunk, depending on how much you had.

If I come in totally sober and wearing fresh linens, breath reeking of coffee, and with a head of beautiful, clean hair, is there still a way to check if there was alcohol in my system the day before or few days before?

I don't think so. If the alcohol has left your bloodstream, I can't think of a single possible way to be tested for it. After several hours, even a blood test shouldn't work. But I'm no scientist.

You wouldn't think it, but the law's awfully stringent here.
They told me they didn't use a urine or blood test. They said they would test me by swabbing the inside of my mouth. Does that sound legitimate?
I have friends who were randomly drug tested who don't really think it's possible for a cotton swab test to find out the day after you drank.
You'd think it'd all be metabolized away by that point.

I doubt it. Mouth chemicals are strong, and I'm sure you've brushed your teeth.

I was a given a referral for the consumption of alcohol in June, so I had to see an official of the Court today. She told me I most likely wouldn't have to see a judge if I agreed to some basic terms, one of those being random drug tests. This shit is going to last six months, and it'll be fine if they're bluffing.

Oh, it's the court? I thought it was like a friend or something. Huh...I dunno. I would be careful. Do some research. I can't find any information that sounds trustworthy, though.

I dont think so. there is medicine which contains alcohol, and you shouldnt be prohibited of using it...

I dunno. I mean, I've taken drug tests after drinking a lot... and I mean a LOT, maybe like the day before or something. And none of them picked up on anything.

Hahahaha. I dunno, maybe you were babysitting a friend's kid or something.

I'm not sure they could really book you for alcohol as long as you're under the legal limit at the time of being tested. I mean there's no way they can tell how much you had and how long ago. For all they know you just had a sip an hour ago, and that can't be illegal.

I think that sounds about right.
My friends all told me it's probably bullshit. The smartest man I've ever met in my life (who's also been in the same situation) told me he was 98% sure it was a scare tactic.
I'm still worried, but in a sane, rational way. Probably because this was my first time getting in trouble with the law.
