_slavo_ 08.18.2008 12:37 PM

PAULYBEE2656 08.18.2008 12:39 PM

the art of the googleing is not one to be taken lightly my child.. wax on wax off as the dark night approaches you too must learn the ways of the forks...use the forks!!!!!

the link seems to be ok as well.....

batreleaser 08.18.2008 01:44 PM

i havnt liked any of the "reformed" doncab records. nothing has seemed to grab my attention like "for respect" and "don cab 2", which are both math rock at its most um, rocking, and best. maybe i should give this another shot?

jimbrim 08.18.2008 01:51 PM

Yeah, I quite like it. Certainly not their best, but still a good blast.

al shabbray 08.18.2008 03:02 PM

oh man, punkgazm is awesome. really really diggin it, even I am still in women-fever

al shabbray 08.18.2008 03:03 PM

like the sympathic version of tool

SYRFox 08.18.2008 03:04 PM

I didn't even know they had a new record out... I should listen to it

SpectralJulianIsNotDead 08.18.2008 03:13 PM

I'm glad that Damon's starting to sing for Don Caballero. He's got a really great voice, as heard on Thee Speaking Canaries stuff, which BTW is awesome. If you haven't listened to them, you need to go out and pick up Songs of the Extra-Terrestrial and Get Out Alive: The Last Type Story.

al shabbray 08.18.2008 03:14 PM

is that he on celestial dusty groove?

Atomizer is fucking fantastic.

Punkgasm is alright. I've never been a huge fan of Don Cab but they've definately got some talent.

Yes.

Damon Che is a very talented guitarist and singer as well as a very talented drummer. The reason they can still really call the band Don Caballero is because it was always his band, he was the main songwriter and wrote more than just his drum parts for a long time.

atsonicpark 08.18.2008 03:20 PM

hey pauly thanks for the link

read the thread

dressedindreams 08.19.2008 04:30 AM

how does it compare to "world class..."
cause i didn't like that one

PAULYBEE2656 08.19.2008 06:23 AM

i really liked world class.... this is on a par as far as i am concerned maybe even better

nobye-noaloha 08.19.2008 06:42 AM

listen to it for free before buying it
http://3voor12.vpro.nl/luisterpaal/

steve newman 08.19.2008 11:38 AM

sweet, i didn't know they had a new one out.

atsonicpark 08.27.2008 09:16 AM

I dug it.

Better than world class...

greedrex 08.27.2008 12:21 PM

World class was nice
this one is shitty
sorry for troubling this fine circle jerk
more fillers than actual songs
disappointing to say the least.
Am I being hard on this band?
I mean they released the most compelling string of LPs from "Respect" to "American Don" but without I. Williams it's just not IT anymore.
I really liked World Class though
oh well

atsonicpark 08.27.2008 12:24 PM

I just find it a more interesting record. They're both cool though.

Though obviously neither one of the new albums can compete with Don Caballero 2 and What Burns Never Returns..

I do find this funny about World Class:
All of the songs were recorded live in the studio with little or no overdubs or edits. Che remarks that this led producer Al Sutton to say that they were the first band he'd ever worked with who could actually play their songs.

greedrex 08.27.2008 12:25 PM

ooo my these LPs were soooooooo out there when i first listened to them.
I thought : "These guys are aliens"

PAULYBEE2656 08.27.2008 12:27 PM

is ian williams still with them. i thought he departed the don for a battle somewhere... maybe he is... i got the imopression from himself about 18 months ago that he was done with the don cab thing!

atsonicpark 08.27.2008 12:28 PM

Yeah, dude's gone.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Don_Caballero

Everything I've ever read about Damon Che seems to suggest he's a dickhead. I wonder.

Actually, I read once, Steve Albini calling Damon Che a dick. That's pretty nuts!

PAULYBEE2656 08.27.2008 12:30 PM

yeah its basically just che....

you're joking right?

atsonicpark 08.27.2008 12:31 PM

Che vowed never to work with Williams again.

Crazy... someone find an interview explaining this!!

atsonicpark 08.27.2008 12:36 PM

Williams made a short cameo appearance in the 2000 movie High Fidelity as a customer in the music store (shortly after John Cusack's character announces, "I will now sell five copies of The Three EPs by The Beta Band.")
